I am just looking at this but have been trying to play hardcore by manually deleting the character and starting over with a new world each time I die. My 18th character just died, this time in the iron age, and like most times because I did something stupid. Two questions: 1) How are people getting through this game without ever dying? It seems really difficult. 2) Do people normally delete the world when they die (what I have been doing). ? Or do they just let a new character 'take over' the world that the last character left?
i personally play it by deleting the person who died, just players choice at the end of the day though. 'if you die the world ends' sounds pretty cool though.
When I create a character with hardcore unchecked they are still made a hardcore character on completion. I do have many other mods so I'm unsure if another is causing a conflict yet. Just wanted to let you know.
Can a middle of the road be proposed, that would be awesome! Ironman: Delete character upon death. Tinman: Loses 3 items randomly upon death (any 3 objects in the inventory. You might be lucky ... or not!)
in diablo2 hardcore were not deleted they became ghost, could never be played again but you could see their stats and keep them in a hall of fame if you wanted. A lvl 90+ was not something one could simply delete and forget
What about a graveyard to teleport all tombstones to?
What if the "grave" would become a more sophisticated one than a simple stone?
A player tombstone to visit with stats to "view" esp. playtime, reached tier, kills, number of berries eaten, fish caugt ... etc.
And maybe even the cause of death will influence the tombstone visual...
I mean ... a simple delete does not honor someone who fell to death while repairing his throne room after defeating the final boss. Do a need to mention the most deadly enemy in Valheim? The Tree! ;) LUL
