Hi, this is super useful and easy to use, thank you for releasing it! I was wondering if it would be possible to add a feature where, instead of keeping the backups for X number of days, old backups are deleted after X number of new backups. That is, if you set it to only save 2 backups at a time, the oldest backup would be deleted on creation of a third backup. I think this would be a great feature to keep the file size of the backup folder under control!
This is a great idea! Expect an update within the day :)
EDIT: Update released, though it is again flagged by this aggressive AV. They emailed me saying they cleared the file, so hopefully in a few days I'll be able to upload again without getting a false-positive <3 For now you can download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/egq7004agx1ij76/ValheimBackupUtil.exe?dl=1 Source code and email confirming false positive can be provided if requested
Dedicated servers store worlds in the same directory your local worlds would be stored. Theres no "wasteful" logic behind backing up your world on a dedicated server if you arent running the dedicated server on the same local machine you are running the game client on.
Apologies for the miscommunication, the tool DOES backup any and every world on your machine, I just meant that it would NOT save any data from the "Valheim dedicated server" folder.
That being said, I will release an update soon that will not only check for Valheim running, but also the Valheim server in order to keep saves up to date.
