Hello, I'm experiencing a strange loop effect associated with the /BepInEx/plugins/CustomAudio/SFX/sfx/Smoke_Explosion_01.wav file. I play on Linux.
With this file is in BepInEx directory, visible spawners like Greydwarf Nest in Black Forest and Body Pile in the Meadows emit the same puff/explosion sound on every 5 seconds. However, this doesn't seem associated with newly spawned monsters, nor dying monsters.
With a selection of audio files from this SFX Overhaul mod in CustomAudio, but the SFX directory, or while playing unmodded (without BepInEx), then I get the usual sounds for spawners (light ghostly whispering from Greydwarf Nest).
I thought that this file was associated with dead enemies exploding, so if it's the same audio track, why does it end being played by spawners?
If you can exclude any error on you side, I'm ready to signal a bug to the Valheim team, because even if it is experienced with your mod on, it's perhaps potentially caused by some "liberal" coding, when BepInEx is supposed to abide to Unity' architecture.
On another topic, as a feedback, I find that in general the spear attack (swing, not hit) is a bit too loud to be realistic. Steps in Black Forest are also a bit loud, as if walking in the snow, as compared for example with animal or ambient sounds. The apparent difference in balance "prevents" me from simply reducing the sfx volume in the settings.
Hello, you have the Music folder in your ...BePinEx\plugins\CustomAudio\CustomAudio\Music\home, you can set the music you want by creating this folder in this location , there are also other ambient music you can change such as biomes, sailing, forestcrypt etc, you have to check Custom Audio forums and check the BGM available or type : customaudio music in the console in game by pressing F5, beforehand you have to unlock the console on steam parameters 'starting options' by adding the value : - console, for the complete list of available music folders to set when you have Custom Audio installed.
АФИГЕНЫЙ МОД! обожаю глобально менять что то в играх! чтоб ощущалось уже иначе. стандартные звуки и музыка всегда приедаются, а модовые добавляет эффект новизны, будто опять впервые играешь!
Hey there! Excellent work here. I enjoy the vast majority of the changes but have a few small issues that I'll mention here.
1. I do not notice many wind sounds anymore. What I do hear is nice, but it seems very quiet in general. I had a rain/thunderstorm happen in the Meadows and the thunder sound was very nice. It may be a little lacking in intensity compared to the bright flashes of lightening, but the main thing was there was no audible rain sound nor was there any wind sound. It really clashed with the visible gusts blowing the foliage/trees and sheets of rain falling from the sky.
2. Many of the footsteps seem rather quiet, particularly when traveling throughout the meadow woodlands and black forest. I could not hear them at all during the same storm I mentioned above.
3. During a graydwarf raid the music that plays has a strange cutoff and restart when it loops. Nothing major, just a bit off-putting if the raid continues for a while and the track loops.
4. The sound effect that plays when activating Eikthyr's power seems delayed/distorted. The visible effect of the energy wave coming off of the player character happens silently on screen before the sound plays and there sounds like some sort of distortion or scratchiness to the sound effect towards the end of it.
Hope that doesn't seem overly negative or that I do not like the mod. Quite the opposite! I love the weapon and tool sound effects, particularly the metallic "thunk" when cutting down trees now. The animal and enemy sounds that I have heard thus far are also very nice. The only thing that has been unenjoyable at all is the odd lack of weather sounds, but that's really it. I thank you greatly for all of the work you've done on this and look forward to whatever else you may choose to add down the road:)
EDIT: After examining the files and attempting to play the sounds for wind in the ambient folder there seems to be some sort of distortion in all of the wind sounds. I tried several programs including VLC and the sounds all play but there is a very odd distortion present quite clearly in all of them. Not sure what that is about as I am mostly unfamiliar with any sort of sound design.
Hey thanks for the feedback... Tbh i just checked and i uploaded the wrong file that was actually a draft and the orginal was far better worked and polished. sadly the orginal files were lost which was many hours of work. i will try to sort it all out again when i have time just really busy with uni work atm...
No problem at all. Take your time. That explains quite a bit actually. Some sounds are really nice but some are really rough. I thought perhaps some sort of corruption happened during compression somehow but that makes more sense. Thanks for the reply and sorry about losing your work like that.
this mod really makes me insane. wind sound is now super high and i cant remove it anymore...and it loops too... so all the time just wind at maxium volume..
Figured I would ask here just on the off chance someone might know... I have asked on the Custom Audio page but no response.
I seem to be getting main game sounds constantly trying to start and log keeps getting spammed with the following:
[Info : Unity Log] 04/05/2021 06:11:53: Resumed music meadows at 9707039 [Info : Unity Log] 04/05/2021 06:11:53: Resumed music meadows at 9707039 [Info : Unity Log] 04/05/2021 06:11:53: Resumed music meadows at 9707039 [Info : Unity Log] 04/05/2021 06:11:54: Resumed music meadows at 9707039 [Info : Unity Log] 04/05/2021 06:11:54: Resumed music meadows at 9707039
That's just an example. It seems to happen with home music, etc. Happens every second, multiple times a second and I can hear the beginning of the track start then stop, over and over and it is driving me batty. I know it's either Custom Audio or the sounds from this mod, as if I run the game without the mods, it never happens.
I think it's a problem associated on loop sounds and track time with custom audio. I noticed that if you turn off ingame music when this happens, the spamming stops, but it's not a viable solution if you like ingame music... No idea how to solve that :/
They probably mean something like how the Realistic Animal Sounds mod did it. To reduce the frequency of wolf sounds they used silent audio to replace some of the howl sfx.
oh i understand thanks yeah i will be doing this... to be honest i have a huge update lined up which will be released next week which will be a total change to the current sounds but is alot better.
