A bit of a bump for Jan 2022, but I did the same. Spawned Haldor in next to my base, turns out he tanks the fps pretty good when close to a large structure. Little did I know, I couldn't remove him the same way I spawned him…
but it could solve accidents, in private/coop servers! sigh.
we (and according to google, several other people) made the mistake of spawning ''glowing mushrooms'' thinking they were another yummy fungus food source. NOPE. now we're stuck with 40, in the same place, permanent glowing mushroom deco items in the world. in what was otherwise a beloved area. sigh. now its brighter than the sun and we had to bury it in earth ;l
This actually came in really handy today! For some reason my trader was buried underground (only his pipe was above ground) today when I ported to visit him. And for like 2 hours I couldn't find him (I could see the text of him talking) but didn't see him. I was clicking everywhere on the ground, in the air, etc. Just when I about gave up, I saw his pipe poke up through the ground. Well, you cant dig him out (because of his barrier) and I couldn't interact with him (it didn't display the option to) I could click on him, but got nothing. But, I was able to interact to despawn him. So I despawned him, and spawned in a new one. It was the weirdest thing.
