I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the green metal tint either. I think there is another file associated with the black metal meshes that needs to be altered or overwritten in order to remove the green tint.
I'm also looking into this size issue and would love some insight about it from the author. Would be great to keep using your reskins as we progress into higher tier weapons. I even like having the green tint to imagine a reforging involving black metal, but the size seems... somewhat unwieldly.
@mjolnir41 - Did you get this Iron sword to work with the green tint? If so can you elaborate how? I add the files renamed to blackmetal but the model was all messed up, afraid I am clueless about this stuff.
Hey guys i see some of you have problem convert this sword to black sword I could say I understand if you ask author I could send this pack on my page on nexsus or sent to him because I make all sword bronze, iron, silver and that one all you want :p I have some experience with moding sow I will be happy to help you only author give promising and this proves they are ready to go
I honestly have no idea what's going on. I've downloaded this mod several times. I just can't get the Ironsword texture/mesh to render into my games. I love the sword design. If anyone can get me some help thanks. Also, yes I do have the texture/mesh and assimp.dll installed correctly. Any help would be much appreciated.
Edit: So, this texture is working now.. Weird I must a say. I died logged out of my server. Log back in and now the texture is working. Lol I have no idea what to think.
Just a suggestion... but ive seen other Devs/Modders add items directly into the game, and I think these weapons would be AMAZING additions to the game. You already have the weapon itself, i believe you'd just have to make it its own item and tie it to a recipe. Would be really awesome instead of texture replacers that everyone else needs just to see it.
Looking into it, that mod seems to have issues with items disappearing when being transferred between players. I very much like the idea of creating new weapons and armor but I may wait until that issue has been identified and fixed. I don't want people mad at me because their stuff disappears lol
I have his other mod war axe and silver sword they are great but with this sword I have a problem with textures the tip of the sword looks hottible as if it were wood
The textures are not loading correctly. Make sure you have Custom Textures installed, then place the included texture files in the Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim\BepInEx\plugins\CustomTextures folder.
Once you do that, the textures should load correctly. Right now, you have the new mesh (model) but the old texture.
problem solved update custom meshes and custom texture mod to its latest version and everything fixed, thanks for your help and for your beautiful work thanks
My experience has been that Vortex doesn't understand how to install these texture replacers. I would counsel everyone to install them manually for now.
This isn't just a texture replacement though, but model as well. And that's where the issue lies for Vortex I found. It handles textures and models separately fine for the most part, but immediately has a brainfart when it has to deal with both in one package.
So yeah, just install the files manually until there's a fix from the Vortex devs. Or if you've got a bit more time to waste like me, you can take the one model file and the three texture files and re-compress them separately, then install them with Vortex. Just don't put the model file in more folders than necessary, you can simply compress it from the AxeIron folder and Vortex should drop it in the right folder.

The model and the skin is loading correctly.
The green tint is still there, but thats no problem for me.
The bigger issue is the size - literally:
Anyone knows hot to fix this???
Edit: resizing the fbx model didn't help...

PS text me what you think
Installed this mod and a axe mod but the texture doesn't line up properly with the weapon?
Is there a fix for this?

Also, everyone still needs the mod to see it. I've tested it out.
