I agree with you on 100% that sign is too big, but unfortunate i tested lots of variants of it, and text in this game is "scuffed" by default, so if i do smaller sign it makes text and e.t.c looks literally unreadable :c
any way we can change the font ourselves? look at clock mod and see how he does it, he allows any font type, just a suggestion! great work so far! i think it has so much potential. would also be cool to change colors obviously, which the clock mod also has!
Clock mode using unity GUI to give you info in text about what time is that. My mod using ingame prefab's (sign) text which cannot take any other font than Arial or default "vikingfont". I dont really wanna use assetbundle so i guess it won't work
i like idea of this mod, but i wont use it, until it will be more lore-friendly, and better usable example size of that sign according to setup. or example to show only one type of content in small sign. i believe most people make storage houses where they make chests separate for specific materials, so that way it could be more usable. so if i place chest and above her sign with command example: "/items down wood" -will list al item in chest placed under sign, that are wood
it may take time, but maybe command may have more specifications like "/items position* type* texture*" position: aroundas default,around/up/down/right/left/behind/up-behind/down-behind (maybe problematic, bcause example i place signs above in front of chest, so it coud be even up-behind and down-behind) type: allas default, material (theres lot of them, so theres a way 1. must be specified by same name as in game (wood,FineWood... etc), or make configurable options (i think ingame name is better way, anyone can find it). texture:wood as default, same as it is already, then white/night/wood, anyway font should be left as the one already on signs in game to be more lorefriendly.
theres problem with the size also, but maybe let it be by settings for those unconfortable with small text, and let it be small sign by default.. (text like Wood: 54 ... where it says theres 54 pieces of wood, isnt that big)
Ty for big comment, gonna try to improve mod in future. Right now I added feature like : +Added /items all option. Sign will show summary of items from all chests around . So it can at least be usable as item counter from all chests around in huge warehouses

"but" i found the sign way to big (personal taste, i agree)
i didnt found any bug or issue in it tho, pretty cool work and idea :)))
I would also like to note that /items is fairly blinding bright, even more so if any light is shining on it.
Great start though!

Right now it is a bit raw, but i believe this is going to be a must have mod!
but theres probably problem with size
