Hello, just want to thank you for this awesome mod, one of the few that are extreme MANDATORY for this game. Endorsed

Now that Valheim are on Xbox, my friend and I tried out some CrossPlay. We used his Xbox Series-X as server, and we played a few times (about 15 hours total) so I could show him the ropes of the game. I tuned down my mod list beforehand, to client side only stuff, with Tree Respawn and TreeStatus as two of the few.
All was good, both could chop down trees and the stubs, and Saplings appeared. ( I could only see tree status, of course)

Then today, those two mods didn't work in that multiplayer game. Works fine in my test game on my PC, just now. I've been using a bunch of mods since Valheim was launched into EA (soon 1k hours), but never done any multiplayer with it.

No update to any mods (bot latest versions from Nexus) or to the game files (0.214.2). No Public Test Branch stuff in my end. Tried that game-world with only these two installed, but no luck. No error in my BepInEx console window, or to LogOutput.log / Player.log. Updated to BepInEx 5.4.21.0 before I even logged onto the xbox server for the first time.

Anyone with similar experience / suggestion?

Edit: I see a new mod Trees Reborn. I'll try that one out.

The way the game works, whoever enters an area first controls that area. Your friend's Xbox is calculating the stump removal, and since it doesn't have the mod, it won't place a sapling. So try going through a teleporter and see if the mod works in a different location.

Yes, when you mention it, I recall a similar discussion ages ago.
      I will indeed test this.

      Thank you, ZombieDancer!

Edit: Indeed it was the "first in a cells, controls it". Thank you!!

When my trees regrow, they become larger than the original. My birch trees have become oak sized! Is there a way to fix this?

Both mods are compatible, I've been using both for quite a while. However, this mod currently doesn't work for Mistlands update.

Huh, weird. Thanks for the info though, I'll have to take a look at my game files then

The new trees in Mistlands-biome doesn't re-grow, when stump are removed.
The mod itself works fine otherwise with the game version 0.212.7

With the mod "Plant Everything" installed you should be able to simply add "ShootStump:Ygga_Sapling" to the "tree_dict_Plant_Everything.json" of this mod to make Yggdrasil trees respawn :)

I absolutely love this mod! I'm so hoping you may be able to update for the Mistlands trees when you happen to get a chance. *fingers crossed*  Would be very much appreciated, and a forest life saver. XD

For some reason after about an hour of trouble shooting I can't get this to work on my dedicated server.  The only other mod I'm running on there is Valheim Plus.  Any suggestions?  Put all files under the Plugins folder and the cfg file is created under config but trees are not respawning upon destroying stumps.

Working for Mistlands.  At least for the old trees.  Mistland trees do not regrow.

Sometimes you want a tree gone, other times it wld be neat if it replanted like this.
Is it possible to make it regrow if u leave the stump, but not regrow if u remove the stump and the tree??

You could always just hack the sapling once after it has appeared, it's just one extra axe swing. That would remove it.

+1  The logic of this mod seems backwards, otherwise I'd definitely be using it.

Trees should ONLY grow back if you LEAVE the stump. Removing the stump should prevent it growing back and permanently remove the tree.  Mod Author, please consider giving players the option to change this behavior in the config files and I'd bet this mod would be more popular.

And what, have a new tree grow overtop of the existing stump? This idea just makes a simple solution more complicated.

Once the tree spawns, it despawns the stump or else it gets the hose again.

Makes way more sense gameplay-wise to have the tree grow from the stump and not from a  complete cutback. This mod makes it so you have to leave all stumps if you want to create a clearing, which seems counterintuitive to me as well.

This would make a complicated solution more simple.

P.S. As a horticulturist I must stress that some trees can definitely grow from stumps. In fact, birch trees for example are quite known to be able to do this.

      Sorry I was misinformed!

Still, I'm not going to over complicate this. You can either a) turn off the mod, or b) destroy the sapling that the mod creates. You don't have to leave stumps, but this mod causes trees to respawn. If you don't want them to respawn, stop using it.

I still fail to see how that would complicate it instead of simplifying it, but it's your show man

because the stump is a completely different game object from the tree.

That is just silly - What if I want a stump? Plus it's not that difficult to just whack the sapling afterwards if you don't want it...

@aedenthorn This mod appears to have broken with the newest update. It causes server connections to hang and time out- only removing it allows players to connect correctly. Any chance of updating things? :)

I went through all of my 60-plus mods and only found one preventing me from connecting to my hosted server. Tree Respawn still works fine for me. I just logged on and checked it now to be sure.

Can I install and use this mod if I'm joining a friend who doesn't have mods?
