hey I don't know if it is just me but I am having a hard time getting the mod recognized, I installed into plugin just like my other mods but it isn't showing up as well as mods that are dependent if it's just me being stupid and not doing obvious that makes sense but just wondering what is going on also everything is at the latest version as I ser it up like 3 days ago.
I reinstalled all the mods I'm having issues with with no luck
I had one mod the fitness skill mod show an error when I didn't have this installed but when I realized I needed this it no longer showed up

Same problem. None of the skills which rely on this mod are working, and this one isn't showing up in Configuration Manager. BepinEx and Configuration Manager are both fully updated.

I uninstalled and removed and deleted the mod archive and reinstalled it, and for some reason, even though I had done everything before but delete the file, it's working now. So I guess the file was bad? I dunno.

Hi all.  I'm having some issues when I install this mod.
    Valheim version: 0.215.2 (n-1)
    BepInEx version: 5.4.21.0
    Mod version: 1.1.1
    Platform: Windows 10

I installed it using the Thunderstore mod manager. (I usually don't use MM's but this one looked pretty easy).

Here's the error that keeps repeating in the F5 command window and the player.log

    MissingFieldException: Field 'EnemyHud/HudData.m_name' not found.
      at (wrapper dynamic-method) EnemyHud.DMD<EnemyHud::UpdateHuds>(EnemyHud,Player,Sadle,single)
      at EnemyHud.LateUpdate () [0x000c2] in <49d9aaa0119f4006a902669e02c0ad15>:0

I haven't altered any of the mod's configs except to set them all to false trying to see what the issue is.
I disabled all off the mods except this one and SkillInjector which it needs.

pipakin if you haven't stopped modding and you have time, can you please tell
me what this error is, maybe point me in the right direction to fix it?

    Thank you for modding.

    Gary

Man, you come across like such a pleasant person in both comments on this guys mods. You install it the same as you would for any BepInEx mod, throw it in the plugins folder. I haven't used them yet or even downloaded them and I could figure it out by looking at the Requirements on the Description page. But you know, writing annoying comments that could discourage creators is easier that putting in that little bit of thought I guess.

CONGRATULATIONS! I've posted your refund for this mod of $0. It should be posted to your account within the next 3-4 business
      days. :-P

In all seriousness I'm planning to add better docs to the mods, I just wrote em over the last 2 days FWIW.

ahhh yes... The reason I stopped modding (publicly, at least).

Never ceases to amaze me how much some people expect from others; especially when they've done (quite literally), *NOTHING*, in return to deserve it.. (whether that's paying for it, or even just showing some common courtesy/respect and thanking the man..)

Don't let those people discourage you. I for one have been really digging your stuff.
I mean, the fact you fixed the whole "planted berries not growing" issue, alone earns my respect.. (and I'd hope the actual Valheim developer's respect as well.. You know, doing their job for them and all! ;) lol.. I kid the developers.. Besides, who woulda knew there'd be a mod to plant bushes, let alone mods in general, so soon after launch?
But I suppose, at least they still get paid, no matter how much of a d-bag their customers may be.. Modders on the other hand, don't get that luxury..

So let's all take it easy on the modders, providing us all this amazing content, for absolutely free.. THANK YOU!

      @mgreene0912

It was a reasonable question, one that I had not too long ago myself. Stop being a snowflake. And logically, it is correct: if you are very new, and are not explained how to install it, then you cant install it. ---->> If you cant install it, you cant use it. ---->> If you cant use it, there is no point in downloading it. ---->> It all culminates in the mod being, conditionally, useless.

I am very new to Valheim modding, so I was confused by a few mods not having proper installation instructions, too. From my standpoint, the guy made a perfectly logical statement. So, you know.... go and drink some matcha tea? Im assuming you know what matcha is?

It's really unfortunate that out of all the replies, no one actually answered the question. I'm a bit late to the party here, but I'm having the same question. All due respect to Sanrin, but you didn't download it so you didn't understand the question. And this isn't a ding on the creator, just something that would be nice to have for those of us who DON'T write mods.

There are four files in the zip folder. Some mods you put the folder in the BepinEx plugins folder; some you just copy the .dll. I don't know which to do. And so here we are, a month later and still no guidance on this.

I'll experiment and figure it out, but I feel MorgulisMorgulex's frustration - a sentence on how to properly install this would be appreciated.

Actually, it was explained in the first response.

"You install it the same as you would for any BepInEx mod, throw it in the plugins folder."

I think what baalshem11 was asking is what specifically we have to do. so for example the cooking skill mod that required this mod to work specifically tells you to pull the dll file and the assets folder into the BepinEx Plugins folder while other files you just drag the whole folder in I believe. another question I had is does it matter what the folders that you drag into the Plugins folder are named? or should all mods simply have the dll files pulled separately unless otherwise specified. I am very new at using BepinEx so any help would be appreciated. I do have to agree that, even if no offence was meant, Morgulis question came off as entitled and frustrating to even myself, who has a similar problem. There are just better ways to ask for help with what is otherwise a completely free service.

For anyone seeking this information, since it hasn't been spelled out for noobies:

      1. Unzip the file you downloaded here, which will give you a folder. Inside this folder there's a SkillInjection.dll file.
      2. Copy this .dll file into the plugins folder of Bepinex. Most mods are installed this way, unless specified otherwise.
      3. The path should look like (for steam) ... steamapps/common/Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/SkillInjector.dll

      Hope this helps.

PS: If you're wondering about BepInEx, then stop and download that first -- this is required for a lot of the Valheim mods on this website. You can find a preconfigured version for Valheim here: https://valheim.thunderstore.io/package/denikson/BepInExPack_Valheim/ or the base BepInEx here: https://github.com/BepInEx/BepInEx

Far too late to answer but i'm sure it will be of help.
Although HDPeartree answered it properly, he didn't gave any precisions about what to do with the other files.
In order to make sure the plugin folder isn't a mess, most mod developpers make folders with their dlls and assets.

If HDPeartree is right, then it means the other files are unneeded.
But if they are, then just copy the whole zip folder content inside a "SkillInjector" folder and it should work.

I'm not sure whether this mod is still being worked on, but I wanted to tell you how much it makes it more fun to play! It's really awesome, especially with the Skill Mods by the same author.

But I was wondering something... Is it possible for a skill to only be unlocked when reaching a certain level in another skill? Like, for example, a new rank of unarmed skill after reaching Unarmed 100, which increased the base damage of the fists.

If that is/were possible, then the progression could be extended and bring more possibilities, like breaking trees and eventually rocks and ores with punches (by attaining Chop and Pickaxe damage of increasing tiers, besides the increase in base damage).

The secondary skills could even increase by attacking the appropriate terrain features instead of increasing by attacking enemies, so you'd need specialized training for each to achieve maximum unarmed damage, which should be comparable to black metal dagger.

Well, maybe it could be trained independent of the Fists skill itself by having differing Exp gain methods?

How do you use the raiseskill console command with these mods? I am using the CookingSkill and GatheringSkill mods, but I do not know their IDs.

    Greetings and salutations good sir,

I love this mod, it's fantastic.  However, there has been a major issue with it since Jotunn - The Valheim Library updated yesterday.  Now in the Vortex Skill Injector shows up as redundant.  I created a new profile, and just loaded Bepin and Skill Injector plus all the associated mods I use.  More Skills, Cartography, Fitness, and Minimap.  Sadly none work.  So I downloaded all the mods listed as requiring Skill Injector to test them, sadly none of them now work.  As far as I can tell this is something to do with the mod itself.  I cannot seem to figure out what it could be on my end...  My best guess is that Jotunn changed something within it that broke Skill Injector, since after its update Skill Injector started showing up as 'Redundant' within Vortex and keeps shutting off when 'Optimized'.  I've tried to bug test it as much as I can, and after two hours now I'm at the point where I need to pass it off to you the Mod Author.  Thank you for your hard work, since well I cannot play Valheim now without the added skills.  I love this mod, and hope you fix it asap.  If there is anything more I can do to help you fix it please let me know.

Thank you for your time, and have a good day.
    Miastra

    - Edit:  I reinstalled Skill Injector and now everything magically works again.  Sorry for misreporting this issue.  It was on my end it seems.  Thank you and have a nice day.

I'm using skillnjector and found my game broken when 2 out of 6+ skill mods. After 6 hours of rebuilding my modded game from vanilla, I found the real culprit was Sailing Skill and Vitality skill (Vitality caused items to not be picked up automatically. Sailing caused my karve ship to sink and become unusable.) Once those were removed I am able to use the following skill mods Athletics, Cartography, Cooking, and Fitness. Try removing the skill mods, then add them back one at a time to see if you can get more of them to work.
