This reminds me a lot of Darkest Dungeons deaths door system, I like it. If you're willing, three features would make it closer that I'd love to see; a reproc chance while the cheat death effect is active (basically a chance to skip the cooldown), a way to set the effect proc sound and an optional configurable effect after the protection is over, so a debuff or other such lingering effects can be setup on a separate, customisable duration.
a chance to proc effect without it getting on cooldown (this is easy)
a way to set up the effect sound (idk in what way it could be configurated)
a way to configure what debuff should player get after cheat death proc (that's doable but in indirect way)
Current status effect system only has a cooldown feature which prevents getting similar status effect. Cooldown duration is already configurable. What is your ideas about how you want to punish(?) players for cheat death proc.
The main goal of the mod was to prevent sudden random death from offscreen projectiles, sloppy movements, bad decisions in combat, potential glitches and of cource fall death while building. Default config only allows you to quickly reposition yourself in combat situation. It doesn't grant any meaningful lingering protection.
Reproc chance looks fine and balanced. Setting up effect idk how it could be implemented. And debuff looks redundant.
