Just about to test this out but curious how it loads the music, is it at the time of play or will it load everything up at start up causing a lot of resources to be used if lots of songs are provided?

Probably loads of all of them at start up. It uses systems from Unity and Valheim so not fully sure what happens.

Jere, Next question. Using your other mods, I've managed to create eight new biomes with custom spawners, locations, environments, factions, etc.. I've been using music/ambience of the other biomes but would love to create unique music/sfx/ambience for the new biomes instead  of "borrowing" audio from the other vanilla biomes. Can I just create new audio names like I see (example: instead of ClearNight, use SporeClearNight) and create a pointer in the environmental & biomes configs and put a corrosponding folder with the music in it? I am definitely not a coder, but I am trying to fumble through as best I can. In my mind, this can work...but I think I am probably pushing beyond what is possible. Thought I'd get your input before I start trying to accomplish this.

That's great news. I've been using ambient audio in place of music in some cases to add a bit more complexity to the biomes (extra cave, forest, tundra sounds, etc.). That means I can add all new audio to my Sporelands, Arachnea, Frostlands, Frozenlands, Burninglands, and Charredlands. Thank you again for responding. I truly appreciate it.

Did you manage to make the custom music work for your custom environments? If yes could you please share/describe how you did that?

I'm trying to get this setup. I created a music folder underneath Expand_World. I have several mp3's in there. I've tried editting the YML to pull a specific song, but I am clearly doing something wrong. Do they have to be in a specific format (wav, etc.), the subfolder spelled out when pointing to songs? I've spent quite a while trying to get this to work. Can you give me a hint please?

I'm not sure which formats are supported.

Yes, for the path you need to put the full path. If you have for example "\BepInEx\config\expand_world\songs\song.mp3" you would need to put "songs\song.mp3".

thanks for the quick reply. I must be close then. I'll keep trying and when I figure it out, I'll post what I figure out in regard to formats, etc.

That did work. For some reason, the menu music still comes up with the "standard" music, but I was able to follow your instruction and the intro/other music is now working. I did a Google search for Royalty free Viking music and found a site that had lots to choose from. It's nice to have a change from the same old music after listening to it for 4,000+ hours of gameplay.

I think the mod loads itself only after loading a world.

I didn't think about the menu.
