In a shared world can a client have this without the host also having it?  It seems like not.

I'm sort of the default build guy in our group and the host runs minimal MODs and I use only client side MODs (build camera, rotation, snap points, etc...)

Currently the mod is required on both client & server. I actually haven't thought about this when I created the mod. I'll think about it and see what the best options are and I'll get back to you.

I've updated the network compatibility to only enforce clients to need the mod when its on the server. If its not on the server then no checks are applied and you should be able to use it. There is only one caveat. If the server does have Jotunn installed then you won't be able to change the config values without being admin. This is something Jotunn does and is currently out of my control but the developer of Jotunn as stated he found it weird behaviour so maybe he might do something about it.

If it still doesen't work don't hesitate to leave a comment.

THANK YOU for making this mod. It should have been this way from day 1.

I don't mean this to be disrespectful, but a possible alternative that avoids the need for this mod is a change to technique.  I've been frustrated with the eccentricities of the leveling function, too, one of them the seeming inability to create a leveled SLOPE or incline.  I discovered, though, that a change in technique makes the result more desirable: focus the leveling directly under the character rather than some distance away.  Since the secondary raise-or-lower effect of leveling is based on the elevation differential between the player's feet and the tool focus, placing that focus directly under the player thwarts most of that and makes it possible to achieve better graded slopes with it.

Regardless, the game's Hoe certainly needs a bit of refinement....

I see your point and would like to thank you for sharing your technique! Personally, I think this is how it should be. A tool to level your ground, one to texture it with dirt and one to texture it with paved stones. I cannot count how many times I wanted to change to paved stones and forgot about the leveling part for a moment... turning something that was supose to be done in seconds into minutes to get the ground back to how it was. With this mod I no longer have to worry about accidently leveling when paving stones, that alone makes the mod worth it for me imo. Besides, it only changes a few fields on the original prefab to prevent the leveling, its quite lightweight. Still, thank you for your comment :)

Thank you! I think a lot of ppl share that opinion and I was actually suprised that there was no mod for it yet.
