As far as I can tell everything's still working fine so I must say this is a very underrated mod. It fixes a lot that frustrated me too, mainly the build stability mechanics. Thanks for the cool mod
I tried it with the updated BepInEx version and didn't find an error (didn't try everything though). Did you encounter one? Feel free to open a bug issue and paste the full error code from the console in there together with a description what you did that caused the error.
Actually, I was able to load up without issues, had asked this before I had opened the game and had based the question on previous experiences of crashes from a game update. Thanks for responding and I apologize for my late response. Thank you for the awesome mod.
I have peeked into the code, added the boat names to my mod and uploaded the new version. Big boats will have the same speed as the viking ship. The new karve has the speed of the karve. So for those the config values apply to them as well. The raft and canoe have the speed of the vanilla boat values.
They should be compatible as nothing interferes. I have only tested the vanilla boats but everything should work (just leave a comment here with the error message if it doesn't). Don't forget to delete the old config file!
unfortunately it doesn't work with either boat additions or odin ship. the ship cannot be steered and only moves straight ahead ok nvm i just downloaded your fixed file. boat additions works just fine but odin's ship doesn't steer quite as well. very good work thank you and keep it up
Thanks for the feedback! So far I have only added the ship names from "Boat additions". All unknown or low tier boats will have the old default values. I will take a look at "OdinShip" and try to add them as well :)
EDIT: I needed to send a message to the mod author cause the decompiling doesn't work properly so I can't find the boat names myself. Hopefully he answers! But I have seen that he also did some tweaks to the boat speed etc. I hope they will be compatible somehow and not interfere too much.
In the Description it says "Keep in mind, you can always set values back to the default ones through the config if you don't like some of the changes."
How do I do this? Is there a config file for the mod? Or do I need to look for Valheim's config file? Or do I need a mod manager to be able to access a config?
After installing the game (there is a section in the description) you will have a "Bepinex" folder and there is the plugins (mods) folder with my .dll and there is also a "config" folder.
After launching the game once the config will be created and called "ValheimRedesign.cfg". Quit the game and then edit this file :)
Yes, there is only one radius for both. If you don't like it then you can simply set the radius in the config from 40 to 20 (launch the game once with the mod so the config is created).
Edit: There is another value but it is called "discoverRange" and I can't see if that is relevant for the spawning system. You would have to find out during your playthrough. Sorry!
if you find mechanics in this game annoying then this game is not for you... mechanics in this game make it more fun because you need to use your brain more...
If you don't like this mod's mechanics then this is not the mod for you. You're not going to like every mod you see. Couldn't just go on about your day, huh? "...use your brain more" really? That's your argument?
@chaosscz Lazy? I haven't even played it myself with my mod only tested. I mean I could come up with tons of arguments for my redesign choices while you are resorting to insults just because you like the game in it's current state. I find it "funny" how you go out of your way just to insult other peoples work on a literal modding page which is about creative freedom. Imagine me going to your save game mod pages and insulting the looks of the bases you have built and claiming that other people should build on their own and stop being lazy. What a horrible thing to say. Way to go.

I updated it and it should now support all the ships from the OdinShip mod. Could you test this, please?

Sick of repairing things with out a roof! :D
Regards
Great idea! I added it as default off and added it to the config.
Author. Thank you for this. Downloaded.
You are very welcome :)
If you have any constructive feedback just let me know or if you would like to see any other stuff changed!
