This mod doesn't seem to work after the Hearth and Home update. The map explore radius is now always the same regardless of if on foot or on a boat, and is no longer affected by weather. Are there plans to update this mod for H&H?

I have some  ideas! I like to mark important recources like thistle and blueberries constantly, and the amount of pin icons we have is very limited. Would be cool if we could assign a colour to the pins and have more icons to choose from. Maybe a pickaxe symbol to mark ores, a crypt/dungeon looking icon, icon for berries/food etc.

Also, maybe add waypoints? allow us to mark pins on the minimap, and an arrow that shows in the the top center screen that points in the direction. The size of the arrow changes relative to distance % wise.

    Version 1.3.0:

    • Options for reduced minimap explore range when the weather is not clear (light rain, heavy rain, etc.)

Thank you! I will use this immediately! Vision is undoubtedly much reduced if there is fog or a storm.

      Congratulations!

This is a great update, thanks for adding this feature. Quick question - does this treat all weather equally so for instance light rain and heavy fog are identical, or is there some difference between them. If so, is there a way I can adjust this? Thanks again for the great mod!

Thank you very much for all your work and for responding so quickly to the community!

My friends and I have a server in which, thanks to your mod, we only use the large map, without the cursor / arrow that indicates the position of the character. We do this for the most hardcore gameplay and realism. It is realistic to draw a map but it is not realistic to have a map with integrated GPS, so thank you very much for making it possible.

Our method not to get lost is to place bonfires in high places, visible among them, with signs that indicate the directions of interest. Like the beacons of Gondor. It works very well, especially at night.

We also make intensive use of the pins on the map. We indicate on the map any building, ruin, mine, unique characteristic of the land, etc. This helps you know where you are at all times. And because of this, I have a request here, if possible...

Is it possible to make the pins of the possible points of interest appear automatically on the map when the player has "seen them directly"? It would be a very interesting option to add, being able to choose in the config file what you want to be marked on the map and what not.

Thank you so much for all your work, really! Good luck with your mods!

I apologize for not seeing your comment sooner. I believe that automatically adding pins would be possible, but I am curious as to what would count as a "point of interest." If you would please contact me on discord (Night#3605) or directly through Nexus conversation I can help add this to the mod.

Thank you very much for the answer, right now I can not elaborate on the subject of pins, but do not doubt that tomorrow I will write here about it. Now I am in the hospital all night with a friend and I do not have the pc. But thank you very much for your interest.

However, a quick note. Before leaving home, I have seen that there has been a valheim update on steam, and that has caused InSlimVML to stop working, and with it your mod, which is the only one that I use with InSlimVML. This is because the base game DLLs, which InSlimVML directly alters and overwrites, have been modified by the update and this has caused it to stop working. I have checked it by reusing the DLLS from before this update. I always make copies of everything I change / add / overwrite the game.

With the old dlls everything is fine again, but the truth is, it is somewhat dangerous, in my opinion. The disadvantage of InSlimVML is precisely that, the modified dlls that are changed with each new update of the game. BepInEx injects the mods into the game without altering any dll, which gives much more security when using mods and that they do not break.

Now we depend on InSlimVML to update quickly, or we get a little orphaned.

Thanks for everything, really. Tomorrow I will answer you about the minimap.

The next version will be using BepInEx instead of InSlim. I hope all goes well at the hospital, and I look forward to hearing your ideas tomorrow.

Good afternoon! Here you have me again. I will try to convey my thoughts as clearly as possible. Thanks for the opportunity to do it!

The first thing I have to say is that I am not asking for anything. I love your mod the way it is, so if you like my idea, perfect, and if not, then perfect too. I do modding in many other games and I know the dedication and perseverance that goes into doing it, and how bad it sometimes feels like people demand things without thinking that the modder is simply dedicating many free hours to making us happier with our games, free. And you have to be grateful for it. So thank you very much.

For the record, I speak with total ignorance of how Valheim does things, I only make assumptions.

The general idea is the following. I have only extensively modified a game based on Unity (7 Days to Die), and I suppose that in certain aspects it works in a similar way, such as the creation of a map procedurally based on a seed, which it places on the map different POI, or Points of Interest, which are basically the different ruins, caves, crypts, mines, etc. The main difference, perhaps, is that all POI of 7d2d are clearly displayed on the map.

If this works like this, my idea would be that these POIs, which are not reflected on the Valheim map, will be automatically marked on the map, ONLY if the player has actively looked at them. It shouldn't be enough to pass close by and have inadvertently spotted them on the scan radius, you should be looking in the right direction at the right distance to be marked.

I suppose there will be people who would like the bushes with food to be marked, others would like the mineral deposits as well... I really think it's good, especially with regard to mineral deposits. But I think it would be extremely useful if POIs like ruins, fortresses, caves, etc. were marked as well.

Especially for me and my group, that thanks to your mod, we play without a minimap and with the large map without cursor / arrow / GPS that shows where we are. We are guided mainly by the POIs that we have marked on the map to know approximately where we are and the direction we should take. For example: We remember (due to the marker, in part) that to the north of those coastal ruins there is a troll cave. If we go north (supposedly) of those ruins and we do not see the troll cave, but we see the copper deposit, we know that we are going in the opposite direction and we correct the course. More or less as it would be in reality...

Perhaps it would be much easier with a greater number of icons available for the pins, or the few that are in the game with different colors. Also that you could choose, in a general way, which POI you want to be marked on the map in the configuration file. I do not know.

This is just a wish, a thought. Thanks for letting me express it. Thank you very much for your work. And I'm sorry for having written such a long text too.

      I forgot!

Thank you very much for changing the mod to BepInEx. It works perfectly. InSlimVML has yet to be updated, and that's a shame. I prefer not to depend on them updating their dlls with every game update. If one day the modder gets tired and doesn't update it...

      Thanks a lot!

I dug around in the code to get a better understanding of the ruins/dungeon system and hopefully have a way to mark them when you explore them. Thank you for the detailed responses and ideas :)
Not sure I can give an ETA at the moment; not feeling 100% today and also falling out of the Valheim mood, so apologies if this takes a while.

Sorry for the delay, I've got it working pretty well but I need to do some housekeeping then testing. Hopefully I can get an experimental update out today.

After enabling this mod, my BepInEx console get spammed with Unity Warnings like:
    WoodHouse13(Clone)
    Runestone_Meadows(Clone)
    Dolmen03(Clone)
    StartTemple(Clone)
    etc etc etc
After a few seconds after I started a fresh new character and world, I had over 17K lines of log about this. Haven't moved a inch from the starting circle. Only changes I did to ini file was setting Explorer to true.
    Is this normal?
Edit: Forgot to mention; I'm running mod version 2.1.0, installed with Vortex. Also tried to revert to original ini-file, with no changes.

I respectfully request a BepInExPack version that does not require InSlim VML loader to function, thank you in advance.

Sorry for the late reply, but at this time I will likely not be making a BepInEx version since InSlimVML and BepInEx are compatible modloaders. Anyone is welcome to submit a pull request adding BepInEx support if they wish.

Not everyone uses InSlimVML , this is the point, and you're dismissing it by saying "just use both", I don't use both, I never will use both, hence the request.

Would it be possible to take the weather into dynamic account? - Maybe just optional 50% and 100% reduced walking- and boatrange if the env is not clear?
