"Sprint will detoggle automatically if stamina at zero for elapsed time (5 seconds by default)" FIVE??? this killed me a couple times until i found the setting "oh no, oh no, pls no, my stamina, my STAMINA aaargh!!" i put it to 0.1. do you know how janky FIVE SECONDS without stamina are. pure evil. xD
Hi, Great Mod! I have however been having one issue.
I have the 1.3 version that is on r2modman (thunderstore). This is why I cannot post in the bug section.
Every time I try to auto sneak, it will use to the set min %, then go wait to go up 1 point before moving again. This causes the sneak to stutter move without just waiting to fill all stam first. I have reinstalled, as well as tried all settings in config.
Hey thanks for reporting! That appears to be a regression introduced in 1.3 that still persists now. I haven't kept up on this Nexus version, so there's a new version available (1.4.0). I'll likely fix this bug before publishing a new version here.
Dig the mod having various options, and especially that it does what it says it does (all the other auto-run mods are currently broken in one way or another) but there's two key things I'm not digging, if you're willing to add a few small tweaks.
1. I only want Sprint to act as a toggle while I am using Auto-Run. I don't want to toggle sprint mode during general movement. 2. I don't want Auto-Run to cancel when I open my inventory. While doing long runs through safe areas, I like to manage my inventory; it's also nice to be able to grab a quick snack while on the run.
Zero urgency if you want to do this as I'm currently needing to use an older version since I'm using the Valheim build prior to .38, since .38 breaks one of my must-have mods (Auga), but this would take this from being a good alternative to a must-have mod as well. Either way, great mod!
I just published v1.1.0 that implements both of your suggestions. That's avail here and on Thunderstore. If you enjoy, maybe think about a thumbs up? Thanks again!
I really love this mod but I can't use it. Because sprint is stopped when I open inventory. I hope this could be an option. :)
And can I ask a question? I wanna set "Right-mouse button" as AutorunFreelookKey. What should I type in at configuration value? I tried "Mouse-2" but it occurs an exception error.
Thanks for the feedback. I've added config that allows you to continue auto-running and/or sprinting while the inventory menu is open. That's avail here and on Thunderstore. If you pick it up on Thunderstore, maybe consider giving me a thumbs up. :) Enjoy!
As for the Key, I played around with it and wasn't able to determine the binding for the Mouse in a way that would work. I'd have to dig further to get the internal label for that. I'm also not sure if the API I'm using supports mouse buttons like keyboard keys. That's something else I'd have to poke around to figure out.
Is there any chance you can remove config manager as a dependancy to harder feather fall on thunderstore like you did with this? Azumatt just updated the official and he has it use the newest version if you have both the official and unofficial . Or maybe cange to use the unofficial or be able to use either or?
Love this mod, but it would be really nice to be able to have a visuel queue that you have activated "autosprint". When in combat it it is easy to forget if you are have activated it or not and you will have problems regen stamina because you think you have deactivated it but you have not. Like a "S" inside a square for sprint right under the stamina bar?
This mod is a great solution to the 'valheim pinky' which i am also a victim of! all parts work great with the bonus of 'requip after swim'. The one usability problem i am encountering is whene the shift key is used for other functions. for example the farm grid mod uses the shift key to show the grid, the mass planting mod uses the shift key to show the planting grid, and it also has mass pickup using the 'shift+E'. there may be other mods that use the shift key in a similar way, but these are the biggest challenges i have run into so far. what happens is you use shift+E to pick up the carrots for example and it toggles sprint (run) 'on'. you then move to the next section...i mean RUN to the next section...press shift+E to pick up the next plantables, sprint (run) is now toggled off. I like the shift key being used for easily toggle on/off the run when you are running and am getting used to how this impacts controlled jumping. there doesn't seem to be an easy answer to this conflict with the other mods, but after some thought a workaround might be: allow configuration to change the 'sprint(run) toggle' key to another key, and allow for a Lctrl, Lalt modifier. it could then be a Left Control + Shift toggles the sprint(run) mode, while shift only works as normal. This is slightly different than disabling the feature. Another alternative is to allow a hotkey combination to toggle on/off this feature in the mod...and then when you are planting/etc you could disable it with hotkey (maybe even a LCtrl+Shift) and then when done you could re-enable it for meadow sprinting/running. however this gets implemented, it is sorely needed to resolve the shift key use conflict across mods. Again, thanks for a great mod!
Thanks for downloading, and for the feedback! I'm thinking having an assignable toggle for sprint is a good way to resolve this. I'll have to do some tinkering and testing to see what feels right. I wanna say Caps Lock would be a good one, but I'm already coopting that for free look while auto-running. Lemme tinker and I'll let you know what I come up with. Thanks again!
Quick update, I've uploaded a new version: v0.1.0. It allows you to optionally override the Run toggle with a key of your choosing (Default is T). Enjoy!
You're right. I put some logging in to test velocity and found that strafing on autorun increases your speed by 30%. It needed to be normalized after the vector math. That fix will be included in my next update. Thanks for downloading and for mentioning!
So quick explanation on the W behavior. I originally programmed it to toggle off auto-run if any of the directional keys were used (WASD). Then, with the introduction of strafing ability, I realized that it was beneficial sometimes to use the W (Forward) key to "juice" the Sprint even if stam regen was in progress. Pressing the W key would give me a short burst without turning off auto-run. Playing for a while and I realized that was what I wanted the default behavior to be. So I've kept that, but just released a new update that allows you to optionally enable the ability for the Forward key to detoggle auto-run. That's avail in v0.1.0, along with the fix for the unintended speed buff while strafing during auto-run.

The release also features some other conveniences and bug fixes. Full details are available on the README in the DOCS tab.
Again, thanks for a great mod!
