Maybe i'm using the hoppers and pipes wrong, it's hard to say without any kind of explanation to what exactly these things can/can't do, but that might be just me. I am trying to use a system of 3 chests (1 each for wood, metal ore, metal bars) and under these 3 chests they each have 1 hopper and then pipes leading way. So for the wood the pipeline looks like this:
But for some reason only one of my kilns is getting any wood, and it seems to be kiln 2 every time (would have to do more testing to say for certain). The same problem exists for my ore pipeline as well, where only one (usually, maybe always, the 2nd smelter) gets all the ore.
If anyone has any ideas what might be happening, please let me know. Before this i was using a mod that just automatically pulls materials from chests and dumps the processed mats into chests magically and it felt like cheating, and also i love building around with stuff like this, so i would love to get it to work. Any help is much appreciated!
Edit: Yea... i don't know. At this point i am 100% convinced, that this mod must be outdated or just does not work "as advertised". I recreated the last picture on here, with the 1 chest being sorted into 4 chests, and i could not get it to work at all. Just with 2 chests, one for wood and one for stone, in 90% of my tests the last chest gets all the items, no matter how i'm setting up the filter or hopper settings in general.
Idk if you explained the layout correctly but as i can see, youre missing hoppers that take from the pipes and put the material into the smelters, did you check if your coal continues its way through the pipes or does it gets stuck? The mod has some detection problems, sometimes you have to clip the hoppers through the pipes, maybe because i was using perfect placement to fit piping more nicely, it could also be an issue with updates as this mods hasnt been updated since november, idk, i havent played valheim in like a year, i stilk have some screenshots on how i had my factory set up so me and my friends could smelt a lot and fast, i cant send it here but if you want i could. Basically i ran the pipes straight and placing hoppers along the way to feed kilns and smelters, the coal feeds the smelters and circulates indefinitely as a closed circuit constantly feeding them, remember that hoppers can also store a full stack before sending the extra away, so your smelter can hold 20 coal and the hopper 50, so basically you need 70 coal before it continues to the second hopper, it would be good to adjust stack size tbh
Since there was a Valheim patch last week, make sure Jotunn is updated to 2.21.3 and you have MultiUserChest 0.6.0 installed. If you use Vortex, consider switching to r2modman/Thunderstore Mod Manager or install your mods manually. Vortex doesn't work properly for Valheim.
If all of this doesn't help, please DM me your log file from BepInEx/LogOutput.log
Is it possible to limit the number of items in the hopper as in other machines for example Charcoal kiln has 25 smelter 20 coal, 10 ore ect. It currently depends on the size of the stocks. Thank you for your reply Greetings
Thank you for the answer. The problem is not big I just don't like to have a lot of chests. I used the mod Item Stacks - Valheim BepInEx Plugin but I set the stack values too large for example wood (2000). The wood was lagging in the hoper. That's why I asked. A friend told me about a mod for larger chests (Custom Container Sizes) which solves the problem. (smaller stack and bigger chests). The pipe system you added is very helpful. Thank you and Greetings.
funnels don't stack well on top of vanilla chests I would also like for your hoppers to be able to work with the Item Drawers mod (the chests from this are similar to your hoppers, but are storage in themselves; I use them mainly for collecting coal from the furnace)
It's a pity that your funnels ignore chests from mods I would also like to have pipes for more than two resources, because the same furnace for coal mining has one hole that works both for receiving and output, it is difficult to automate this furnace with pipes conducting one resource
Additionally, pipes carrying more than one resource will make it easier to sort resources into chests in large warehouses.
The hoppers are designed to be a bit bulky, you have to build around them to have them stack on top of vanilla chests.
They work fine with most modded chests. This should include the item drawers from makzimus/makail, at least the last time I've tested them. KGs ItemDrawers are not supported, however, as they don't use the vanilla chest script.
More/bigger pipes may will be included in a future update but they don't have priority.
Please make sure to follow the install instructions, install all dependencies and read the Wiki on Client-Troubleshooting (and Server-Troubleshooting if you are playing in multiplayer). If this doesn't help, please provide more details on what isn't working and DM me your log file from BepInEx/LogOutput.log

So for the wood the pipeline looks like this:
/-> hopper 1 -> pipe -> kiln 1 -> hopper -> pipe -> smelter -> etc.
wood chest -> hopper -> pipe -> more pipe
\-> hopper 2 -> pipe -> kiln 2 -> etc.

what should be done about it?
