idk if it depends on the textures you choose, but not all textures were applied. Hit "page up" to reload everything and then for sure everything will be applied. FYI when you hit page up, your game will freeze while it's reloading everything - this is normal, just wait
For anyone who's having problems getting the textures to work, read this.
If you've downloaded a CustomTextures mod, look for that mod file in your BePinEx/Mods folder. I use cjayride-CustomTextures mod & it puts a folder in the mods folder called cjayride-CustomTextures. In that folder will be a folder called CustomTextures, in that folder is where you put all the .png files. If you've downloaded a texture mod & it just puts a CustomTexture.dll file in your plugin folder, than also in that plugin folder will be a folder called CustomTextures, this is where you need to put the .png files. However some will just put CustomTexture folder in the plugin folder & inside that folder is where the mod .dll file is, you need to make a folder in the same folder that .dll file is in called CustomTextures if one isn't there already. In that folder is where you put all the .png files.
I made the mistake of having 2 versions of the same mod, 1 just as a .dll file & one contained in it's own folder called cjayride-CustomTextures. I was putting my .png files into the wrong CustomTexture folder. So make sure you don't have 2 versions of the same mod, if so remove 1 & use the other. You can check if you see this in the BePinEx console window
Info: BepInEx] 24 plugins to load [Warning: BepInEx] Skipping [Custom Textures 2.7.0] because a newer version exists (Custom Textures 3.2.3) You can leave both in, just use the newer one, but ideally just remove the older one to tidy things up.
Another way of knowing if your textures have loaded is looking in the BePinEx window when you launch the game that runs in the background. You will see something like this, but the list will be longer the more textures you add. If you see this, it's worked.

Hey there! I haven't played Valheim in a while, and was so sad today when I fired it up and couldn't find any working HD mods from those I used (due to usual patching issues). But you've done it! Thanks! I am still downloading (slowly) but I'm glad someone finally made a compilation and not in assets format that needs continuous patching.
I do have a question. Have you tried contacting HD Overhaul mod author ( https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/1620 ) ? He had some wicked textures, really good work, sadly, also in assets. I still have his old files (one version after H&H I think) so most stuff should be there. But it looked way better than that AI upscale mod you've used as base.
If you don't want to bother writing him and trying to get in touch, let me know, if you're willing to do the update based on his mod I'll spend my time trying to get an "OK" from him, and I can upload his old assets to you somewhere.
Anyway, hopefully I can try your mod tomorrow, tnx again for this project! :)
Hey - really excited about this one. However is there a way to get this to work with Thunderstore instead of Vortex ?
1) I checked version of BepInEx by denikson 2) I checked version of CustomTextures 3) Downloaded and extracted this texture file in ...> AppData > Roaming >Thunderstore Mod Manager > DataFolder > Valheim > profiles > XX >BeplnEx > plugins > CustomTexture (created folder). CustomTexture .dll is not in folder but under >BeplnEx > plugins > 4) In the CustomTexture folder there is now 4 folders (HD Valheim ect as it extracted to) 5) Its no working - what am I missing or does it not work with Thunderstore ? -I have no other graphic mods installed at this point. HD Valheim removed after it is "broken" from last IG patch.
I have actually never used Vortex.... So I am unable to help you with that. Did you make sure you had all dependencies? You need Custom Textures Mod. I never had any luck with vortex and prefer to install all my mods by hand
Well when I load V it behaves a bit differently, there's a dos window that pops up and is debugging everything going on in the world, animal spawns, left click right click etc,
Where are the mod files meant to go precisely? I currently have them in W:\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim\BepInEx\plugins
I use Vortex and I can confirm it installs just fine, so feel free to enable the Vortex download button @CorpseGod. In general: please, if there is an issue with a Valheim mod installing with Vortex just let me know (or use the feedback function in Vortex) so I can feed it back to the devs and we can get it fixed!
@hawkz It's possible your BepInEx pack is outdated. Look for "BepInExPack" in your mod list and make sure it's using version 5.4.1901 (that's the latest as of now). If it's older, just remove it (in Vortex) which will automatically download and reinstall the latest version.
Secondly, please make sure you're using Custom Textures 2.7.0.
The Vortex download button is still not present on the mod page. I am downloading it for the first time manually and will try putting it in the same folder Vortex installs mods to and see if it works.
Update: can't figure out where to install the mod files with Vortex mod manager. It would be nice to have the Vortex download button enabled for this mod. Anyone else know where these files need to go and how to enable it when using Vortex?
Update 2: got this working with Vortex mod manager. For some reason it didn't work the first time, but I extracted the files again to the folder specified in the instructions with all other dependencies installed and it is now working.
Everything looks amazing, except oddly enough, the copper deposits and skeleton crypts are not using new textures. They appear to be using the game defaults instead. If i am correct, you're using Peanuts 4k stone for that, but its skipping those for some reason? How would i go about fixing this so that the crypts and copper deposits are changed as well? Thanks
ReUpdate: removed the Hd Valheim custom texture folder and just installed Hd Valheim normally then added the other custom texture folders (excluding Hd Valheim obviously) from this mod and now *everything* works and looks great as it should. :)
do i have an issue regarding the black forests grass, or it it just the meadows that has retextured grass? i notice the earth itself in black forest is nicer but the grass is very small, pixelated and sparse.. everything on ultra high. are there any known mod conflicts? everything else works great and looks amazing
I think it would be more correct to leave only files that differ from the base, so in theory there should be less load. And a little less work) Custom textures in any case will be a priority than files in assets. So it didn't make sense to go through all the files)
I just dumped all my favorite mods that were packed into asset bundles and then combined everything together. I didn't spend time to scrub through and find any stock textures. That's well over a thousand files. Plus, this was just meant to be a quick fix right after the patch to get what I had running again. Its not perfect, but it works... Then I just shared my preset here so my friends could grab what I was using, and others are free to play around with it as a result

I have vortex mod manager and i have enabled custom textures and installed this crispy mod - it says "installed" in the mod manager.
I started a new world and everything looks the same, blurry (yet charming) textures
