   Hi GemHunter1,
   I'd like to propose another trigger to stop events from starting: while the user/player is in the in-game menu (after pressing esc) without any timer.
   
   (And maybe when in the steam overlay?)

   For dedicated servers, do all the players need this as well?

      We added it to the server and to the clients and it seems to work. We changed the time from 300s to 60s (1min) and could see through the console, that it seems to work as it should.

      If you don't want events at all you have to use another mod. There is one called Disable Random Events.
