I also cannot get it to work. Installed bepinex and hooks dependencies, checked the config file, started the server with a new character. Died on purpose and started back from the beginning as usual with vanilla...
In case you guys haven't noticed yet: I haven't updated this mod in quite some time. That's most likely the reason it doesn't work. I'll do my best to have a look at it shortly and see if I can fix the issues.
Well, the major issue is that skill levels are controlled by the client, not the server. So if you wanted to reset the skill levels, you'd have to force everyone to install a mod for that. Nevertheless, there are a whole bunch of differences:
- This mod works for Vanilla players on your server. They don't have to mod their client for it. - Unless a player remembers exactly where they died, they won't be able to get their gear and items back. A new character will not have the map explored like the old one. - Wards are based on the character. So if they warded their base, they better hope they didn't bury it or they'll never be able to destroy it and gain access to their old stuff again. - It has a great potential for Role Playing servers, since you have the option to completely disallow anyone to make a character with the same name again. So once a "person" died, they really are "dead".
