About this mod

SHORT DESCRIPTION:
The "Turm der Tausend Tore" (the "Tower of a Thousand Gates") is a powerful, multifunctional multiplayer-building for "Valheim".
For more see the "Detailed Description" below.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
The TURM DER TAUSEND TORE or the TOWER OF A THOUSAND GATES is a building that every player on a server can benefit from, as it forms the basis for traveling the entire Valheim-World in no-time by means of 52 portals.
At the same time, exploration does not fall by the wayside, since the counterparts of the gates in the individual sectors must also be built - but only once and by players who want to do so, but not just for themselves, but for everyone.
Although portal travel with ore is not possible, the extraction of ore is much faster with teamwork, because one player can bring the boat, while others go ahead by means of the portals, in order to dig and hoard on the spot.

THE TOWER ALSO INCLUDES:
- a customs station
- a channel passage for 4 ships with 2 mooring ports
- a temporary storage
- a lighthouse
- as well a fully equipped, completely self-sufficient defense bulwark for clans up to 9 players
- with a commander's suite on the top floor, including a springboard for the particularly brave. :)

MAINTENANCE:
Such a large building is, of course, an energy hog, with generous requirements for resin, coal and wood to just keep the lights on.
The costs are in the toll booth of my Twitch stream/Youtube video: "Valheim: Turm der Tausend Tore" specifically listed, but panel texts as well as
crate-contents unfortunately cannot be co-exported via "BuildShare".

A recharge of the tower, if completely cold, costs:
- 110 Coal
- 170 Wood
- 360 Resin

Since the tower is meant for all players on a server, it makes sense that each player also contributes to its upkeep, every time its features are used, like:
- portal travel
- overnight stays
- food pickups
- Travel shortcuts for boats by using the canals
- forging, weaving, smelting, etc., etc. ...

POLITICAL, INFRASTRUCTURAL AS WELL AS SOCIOLOGICAL ASPECTS:
How much to pay could be negotiated individually on each server ...
... which also gives the whole thing a certain political dimension ;)

In addition, such a facility offers the optimal starting point to establish your own village, or even a city, directly behind it, because everything needed is there:
- Short distances to water traffic (mobility)
- Potential additional income from travelers (prosperity)
- Security through the fortress-like structure of the bulwark (protection)

CONSTRUCTION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Create building foundation
    - Pile up earth with the dimensions 55 x 25 (55 soil plate fields from bank to bank, 25 soil plate fields along the river),
the center of which should ultimately be located in the middle of a river mouth and necessarily completely at ground level,
at the height of the upper edge of 2 stone stairs above the lowest level of the water table on a calm day
(my exact origin coordinates were pretty much in the center of the map: X=388, Y=31, Z=351)
2. Go to the field exactly in the center of the newly built foundation, look towards the sea, the river course in your back,
then 1 step forward and dig a tiny hole to make sure, your ground level at this position is just 1(!) stone stairs above the lowest level of the water table
on a calm day. Finally spawn the VALHEIM: TURM DER TAUSEND TORE there via "BuildShare".
    - It is important to build exactly there in this height on a solid foundation, so that
      * the whole building gets a strong foundation everywhere
      * the canals have enough draught at the end so that the longboats can pass through without hitting the ceiling struts and
      * so that in case of high water the mooring ports including the customs houses are not completely flooded
3. last but not least, clear the 4 canals as passages for the longboats, so deep that one can just stand in the water.
The weirs for troll defense can be added as I did (see Twitch stream/Youtube video: VALHEIM: TURM DER TAUSEND TORE,
where the stones you gain from clearing them lend themselves to a defense facility of this type.

IMPORT:
The Valheim BuildShare mod:
Here you will find a quite excellent tutorial from "Gaming it Out" that basically describes very well,
- how to get buildings from other players into your world,
- or how to share your own monuments with others:
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6G10Kwe6EE&t=736s

BUGFIXING!
But if you still get the following errors, like I did, and Valheim doesn't start after implementing the mod ...

- Valheim - Unity 2019.4.31f1_bd5abf232a62
  or
- [Error : Unity Log] Unable to find method SendPreWillRenderCanvases in [UnityEngine.UIModule.dll]UnityEngine.Canvas

... HERE is the SOLUTION:
01. completely uninstall Valheim via right click in Steam (Valheim > Manage > Uninstall).
ATTENTION: Don't forget to make backup copies, if necessary!
02. delete the complete "Valheim" folder with the rest files of your Valheim Steam installation
(in Steam right click on Valheim > Manage > Browse local files, ... \steamapps\common\Valheim).
03. reinstall Valheim completely fresh
04. Download "SlimVML Loader" here:
      https://valheim.thunderstore.io/package/BepInEx/SlimVML_Loader/
05. download "Buildshare" here:
      https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/5?tab=posts
06. unpack everything in a temporary folder
07. unpack all files according to the instructions found at
      https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/5?tab=posts
from the temporary folder to the corresponding folders of your Valheim Steam installation.
(in Steam right click on Valheim > Manage > Browse local files, ... \steamapps\common\Valheim).
08. Download "BepInExPack Valheim" here:
      https://valheim.thunderstore.io/package/denikson/BepInExPack_Valheim/
09. also unpack it in the temporary folder
10. copy the complete CONTENTS of the "BepInExPack_Valheim"-folder (not the folder itself!)
into the root directory of your Valheim Steam installation (... \steamapps\common\Valheim)
11. start Valheim once and load a world (this will automatically create more folders)
12. quit Valheim, start it again and load a world
13. from now on you should always see the "BuildShare"-label on the left side of the screen in a loaded world.
which you can click with the mouse after pressing TAB and open the tool, with which you can
      - import buildings from other players
      - or export your own works! :)

And now ... have fun!!!
