Could you make it compatible with the ValheimRaft mod? https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/1136 This is why I wanted this mod, but it doesn't seem to work with ships.

newMaxCameraDistance only works right after you change it's value. If you log out and back in again for example it is stuck at a very low zoom out. If you open up the config manager and change the number then it works again until you reload again. Its like its not loading/reading the value from the config file at all, reload from file does nothing as well. Only works after changing the number in the field.

This is the case for both values. Change them and then log out and load back into your game and its using default values even though the values haven't changed, doesn't seem to read and load the config file values. You have to open the config manager and change the values to get the game to update to the new fov/maxcameradistance. The mod seems to work when loading back in after having quit the game, but if you log out and then load a world, even the same one, it doesn't seem to use the config file settings and instead uses the games default values.

Open the Configuration Manager by pressing F1. You should see a popup like in the picture:

Then adapt the newMaxCameraDistance value to your desire. A value like 90.0 may make sense.
After that you should be able to zoom out further!

@Darngreylings What is the error you are seeing/what have you tried? Do you see the config in the configuration manager and increasing the values does not give you the ability to zoom out?
I would need something to go on if you want me to get it working.

@Torbilicious FOV setting is working perfectly but changing the camera distance value doesn't do anything on my end.

Same with me. I tried various numbers in config but camera zoom doesn't change
