I have the same issue. I followed the instructions exactly as described for badgers mod. The in-game menu shows up(Valheim Skies Configuration Editor), but none of the HD skies are listed under Sky Texture. HD Big Planet is shown, but I don't see any planets in the skybox. The only other texture mod I'm using is Willybach's and that's working just fine.
I thought I read it somewhere someone post about after installing Badger Skies & HD textures... now everywhere I go I see a lot of pixels floating around everywhere I go. At frist it looks pretty but after awhile its starting to get annoying, I forgot somewhere someone post the same problem, but there was a solution how to turn off those pixels in the air? Its like in high mountains when snow storms... those snows flying everywhere but much faster speed, this one is very slow, but still bright. Anyone knows how to turn off the pixels?
hmm.... all if not most of them looks f*#@ing AMAZING!!!.... I got a dilemma here... I can't choose just one... I wish if Badget's mod have an extra function where u can "auto-recycle" all the textures sets??? So today when I log in it'll be galaxy, tomorrow I log in it will be auroa.... etc, but does it automatically...maybe make it even counting how many in-game days.... like a season... every 20 in-game days, the mod will auto change texture set to next one....
Would you consider making a quick guide for the process/approach you use to turn a texture into a skybox? From what I can tell you split your base image into six 1:1 2k PNGs, with their position indicated by their filename - are you using a tool to split the image automatically or manually cropping using photoshop/image software?
Depending the image, i use photoshop and/or hugin, (with photoshop you can have better accuracy, with hugin is simpler and faster) . There are various tools to split the image some free some paid some do better job than others. you can try this https://matheowis.github.io/HDRI-to-CubeMap/
Some of these textures are formatted incorrectly or poorly upscaled low resolution images. I was frustrated by this so I created a guide for people to properly format any image to work for this mod.
