Color banding can be annoying sometimes, specially in hazy weather at night. Do you think it will be possible to have dithering or film grain options? ...or is that something that would have to be compiled in the base game in order to be editable?
That's the dirty workaround, which I'm already familiar with and want to avoid where possible. Properly dithering from reshade inherently requires loss of faint detail, and an expensive multi-pass deband preprocess.
However, integrating it closer to the metal gives it access to the raw, full bitdepth color buffer, dramatically reducing both loss of detail and performance by allowing to completely skip the deband step.
I turned this thing on and saw a dramatic increase in FPS in a smaller low instance count build with a lot of lighting and animations and stuff... no obvious loss of visuals that i could see.... didnt help at all sadly with a 20K instance build i had mind you.. Just the AO setting is turned on.. have not played with the rest.
Hi! This is just a chic mod! I adjusted the quality of CustomAO to UltraLow quality, and slightly enhanced the effect. Now the small shadows have become more realistic and deep. And yes, my FPS increased by about 10 frames due to a decrease in the quality of AO shadows (I did not notice any deterioration in graphics). There is only one problem with this mod - it does not turn on automatically when you log on to the server. In a single game, it is applied automatically. When connecting to the server, you have to activate the mod every time by pressing Num0, or set "Enable" in the mod settings. I apologize if I write with mistakes, English is not my native language.
What about an option to change the anisotropic filtering and/or filtering in general? The only way i've seen it being changed is with some texture packs, but i would just like to change it regardless, and this mod seems like the perfect excuse to add such an option.
Kudos on the mod, it's working beautifully, and i finally was able to tune the horrible defaults for bloom and antialiasing, now it's heaven o/
any chance for fog distance? instead of on off something like fog start would be cool to help get rid of the hazy look of the game without seeing black mountains. also is it possible to push LOD past 10k? lod even maxed in console cant go that far
Also interested in this question. I would kill for something to prevent tree snap in as you sail around. Also something to load terrain LOD out much further than it does. It sucks to climb a tall mountain and be unable to see the peaks of other mountains out in the distance. I have 24GB of VRAM game, use it!
No problem at all, console errors gone! Okay now I have a more specific question. I want to use the post-processing mod AA, but when I disable in-game and enable this one, I get some shimmering/noise. Do you have recommendations on the post-processing menu AA settings to reduce this? In-game AA setting causes character after-images for me, so this mod is truly amazing lol
One other comment. It seems with just this and the configuration manager installed I'm getting this spam "Look rotation viewing vector is zero". Specifically when in debug mode and with hammer out or flying. Those two seem to trigger it I think.
That "Look rotation viewing vector is zero" thing may not be this mod. There is a bug in the base game that in very rare situations will cause that to randomly flood the console (having to do with serpents and leeches getting into weird positions, and not checking to make sure a vector isn't zero), and it's relation to serpents means it can appear other things trigger it (because a serpent will load in out of your sight, causing the issues and make it seem like another thing is causing it).
Hi Koosemoose, thanks so much for the reply! That actually makes a lot of sense given the area it was occurring in as well...glad to know it likely isn't the mod. Thanks again :)

I'm sorry - the config just flew off for some reason. Everything works.

Also I did wait until a couple others tested it and you got a couple edits in but this is truly good. Thank you.
Try the new version
How about FPS in the game after all these settings?
