Hit an Ore with a pickaxe once or twice, if you don't see the boxes popup hit "N" on your keyboard and it should popup... "N" again, when your done to make them disappear.
sorry for a delayed reply as i just found this mod. But the mod does indeed still work. to bind it you need to goto single player and use the bind command and then it works fine. just need to give the ores a love tap. thanks for such a useful mod. (tho i havent tested with the new mistland ores)
It's not working for me either. I've made sure ore_support is enabled in F5, but I don't know how to actually activate it. I'm supposed to bind a key to start it, but when I enter the code the console says /bind does not exist or something like that. No lines appear. If ore_support is enabled, does that mean that the lines should automatically appear? Is the key bind just to enable it and not have to enter it in F5?
When ore_support is enabled, the lines appear when you hit the ore / rock nodes. If the node has too many supports the lines won't appear, so you may need to clear around the node first.
I tried the mod out, but didn't work. I recently saw a video of how it works and I got some copper demolished by eyeballing it. for some reason, the mod seems to be loaded in the game (it shows up in Configuration Manager and lags the game which makes me think it updates on the state of the ore) but it doesn't show any boxes. Do the boxes have anything to do with a particular setting? Does any setting turn them off? Also it would be great if we could have a text (like the walk and pick-up text on the top left) that says the mod is enabled/ disabled.
Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but I seem to be having a problem whenever I try mining out connected ores/mine-rocks. I hit the first rock in the chain and the boxes for both the rock and showing supporting structures show up just fine, but if I nick the next rock in the chain, the boxes for that one appear, and the first rock's boxes disappear. Now, while I understand that this might be intended behavior, the issue comes in when I go back and strike the first rock again. The boxes on the second rock disappear and the ones for the first rock are not reappearing. Restarting the world or game doesn't reset the mod.
EDIT, New Info: Turning off the checkbox for "Show Supporting Structures" seems to fix it to a point. More than two connected rocks and it still seems to struggle and forget to switch the displayed support boxes properly..
This is a great mod but only seems to work on my client. Nobody else can see the boxes while playing on the same server. The mod is also installed on the server, if that matters.
Thanks for the response. I'll be sure to 'pay it forward'... its a great mod.
1 clarification and another question...
"/bind n Ore_supoort" should be written in the devcommands F5 console commands or in the game's config file? I'm not sure where to put it.
and as for the questionI've seen in your other postings how you pop a silver node in under a minute because it is basically floating under the terrain. Theoretically can this be done with copper as well? If you had enough stone to cover the entire node could you pop it all at once?
Yes, it should work in theory for copper but more work because some are over the ground. Checking it is on my todo list but no access to gaming computer at the moment.
Thanks for the reply. I had to modify "/bind n ore_support" because N is the default auto-pickup toggle. Used "/bind L ore_support" and works a treat!
I'll be testing the coper node theory later this afternoon and I'll let you know if I can get it to work. (Found a great 'forward base' that's sitting too near a copper node to mine it all without destroying the building; so if I can get this to work I'll keep the structure and get all the copper!)

Type this:
/bind n ore_support
Press N
In the chat window you will see it say Ore Support Enabled / Disabled
