yeah that's a good idea, I've added it for the 0.16.0 release. See the description for a list of possible item types, they are straight exposed from Valheim's internal item types. E.g. #utility, #chest, #legs are all possible
I love all the updates you've added over the years, can't believe how far this has come! Just a quick one for you; when I am on the VNEI tab, and I enter some text into the crafting search bar at the top (not the VNEI search), and I remove whatever I entered, I can't go back to the "Craft" tab. Does this happen for you as well?
Haha thanks, yeah I can also hardly believe how far the mod has come, it all started so simple :D
The search bar at the top is likely from AAA Crafting, although there are other situations that can cause you to not being able to switch tabs. Simply open and close the inventory to refresh. I've attempted to fix this a few times but always broke other mod compatibility, the tabs aren't a nice place to touch as a mod. It's only a minor annoyance and the least breaking solution.
Anyway possible to add this to my singleplayer and not cheat the items in? Saw a comment about it but no way to fix it. Just that crafting an item in singleplayer will keep the matts if im admin. I dont know how to make myself not admin, there any other fix?
VNEI doesn't touch crafting, either you have a another mod installed or you have the vanilla world modifier enabled. The cheating in VNEI only applies to clicking the icons in it's window and it requires a config option to be enabled.
Is there any way to build a version without the Jotunn Lib dependency? I'd like to use it on servers that don't have that 'cos even just knowing what goes into an item would be an all round QoL plus.
You can already connect to every server with VNEI as it is a client side only mod. Vanilla server work, too. Jotunn itself isn't enforcing mods to be installed everywhere, the mods are choosing where they need to be installed and if they should disconnect when not installed on the other side.
Hi. I'm currently playing with VNEI and Skyheim. The added drop items for bosses and resulting recepiece are not show. Is there a way for me to add them manually?
hi! I would like to exclude the items from the PlanBuild mod.I enter the command vnei_export_yaml [exclude_PlanBuild], but nothing happens... Am I doing something wrong? The mod name was copied with the VNEI internal command, it should be correct
Hi, just a quick question. When I am changing the loot tables of entitys with "drop_that" their entries are not changed in the VNEI menue but the new loot works. For example removing all boar drops still shows me the default drops when I click the boar in VNEI. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
This is because there is no integration for SpawnThat DropThat or CLLC inside VNEI. Both mods don't change the underlying vanilla drops but apply their config when the loot actually drops. This means VNEI is not able to recognise the changes. Maybe I'll add support sometime but it isn't that trivial to do
Is there any chance at all that we could get an option to only show items that we know the recipe for? I love the concept, and would use it to filter/search items quickly. Additionally being able to "pin" recipes to the UI somehow could be useful.
Yes, it would be possible to add an option to only show discoverd recipes and that sounds like a nice option. The same for pinning items, altough I have to find some UI space for that. Maybe it could be moved inside the last looked up items or as a configurable row below that, not too sure. I'll put both things on my to-do list :)
Finally added both options in the new release :D The option to show only known items was harder to get right then expected but I think it feels quite well now.
MSchmoecker, hey thanks for the update. Can we be told of what changed from v0.6.5 to this new 0.7.0 version, and why we might want or need it? Didn;t see anything on the Description page, or in the Changelog. If I missed it somewhere, I apoligize. Thanks
The changelog can take some minutes to refresh on Nexus after it has been added and can be found at the main mod page or Github. This version has added a bunch of new features and smaller bugfixes:
Added possibility to favourite items
Added option to only show items that are known by the player
Added option to switch switch between split/only obtaining/only using view of recipes
Added external blacklist for items
Fixed a tooltip was not showing for Jewelcrafting gem items
Fixed items could be spawned even if the player is no admin
Improved recipe calculation of trees, intermediate prefabs are not shown
Wow, thanks. I see Valheim was also just updated from 0.208.1 (Mar 28, 2022) - Released (Apr 11, 2022) to 0.209.8 (Jun 20, 2022). Does this new version 0.7.0 NEED/REQUIRE the new version or is it still for the old one? Thanks again

Is there any way to search for item types?
for example, something like "#utility -@valheim" to search for all non-vanilla items with the type "utility"?
