Is it possible to use this mod to add a storage component to build pieces? Essentially, I'm looking to turn wood piles, stone piles, etc. into containers - even add storage to crafting stations. If possible with this mod, would these containers work with remote crafting mods?
After some poking around I think the reason this mod doesn't work with quickslots or Project Auga is what input opens the item inventory. If it were listening for left shift being held down, instead of splitting a stack of 1, it would probably work?
Also, I don't know if it's because the game updated or what, but opening a new item doesn't create a template file for it--I can only create templates manually. Not a big deal, but thought you should know if you ever revisit this idea.
I use EquipmentAndquickslots and Auga, "BACKPACKREDUX" can be opened correctly (Hotkey Default B), But unable to open "ItemStorageComponent" (Hotkey Default LEFT SHIFT and SELECT), Maybe Hotkey issue. Can you provide Customize HotKey?
There does seem to be an incompatibility with Quick Slots. You can turn a sword into a container but not a piece of armor. Since you equip armor to the quick slots this mod must not be able to access them. When you unequip armor pieces you can open them but not while they're equipped. Hopefully the author can address this sometime.
Finally got a chance to mess around with this mod and it's even better than I had hoped!
Was able to take a utility 'belt' that never gets used from the 'Terraheim' mod, create a 'Template' using this mod, and then simply rename the belt to something along the lines of 'Storage Belt', or 'Storage Pack', etc.. Had a make-shift 'backpack' in a matter of minutes! (Sure, the icon might not look like a backpack and the character might not be shown actually wearing it.. but honestly, it isn't needed. This is pretty much perfect. ..And I'm someone who is usually pretty O.C.D. when it comes to "immersion".. lol)
One suggestion I thought of though while testing it out: I was thinking it might be useful to have an option to add some kind of "Stamina Debuff Penalty" whenever someone has the Item in their Inventory, but does NOT have it equipped. (I guess I kind of see it as, somebody just "dragging around" a backpack, as opposed to actually properly wearing it, using the straps). Nothing too crazy.. Something like, either a reduction of their Total/Max Stamina limit, or perhaps a % reduction in their Stamina Regen rate. Or even a combination of the two, with configurable amounts! ;)

But all that aside, I really just wanted to come here and say thanks! Once again you've completely taken Valheim to an entirely new level. I highly doubt I would even still be playing it this long after release, if it weren't for you and the rest of the modding community. It's truly appreciated!
This is awesome, can't wait to try it out. So glad you've taken on the "backpack" task; I have a feeling it will be a complete game changer. Thank you!
do we already know wwhat happens on death and item loss?? in combination with mods like quickslot or bigger inventory with valheim plus? if not, i gonna try those things out
This is great -- I'm really looking forward to introducing this to our server! Love having this as a monster drop, and with different sizes of bag so there is some progression for our players. Thanks Aedenthorn! Now off to Balrond's Item Generator to make a bag . . .

Custom Item Info Display, Death Tweaks, Extended Player Inventory, Instant Monster Loot Drop, Show Container Contents - all working, thank you!
