This should work with any texture based mod out there, even other tat mods that use flat out textures instead of layers, so I am not going to test everything out there. That said, if you have made a texture mod, and would like me to test it, and add your mod to this list, let me know, and I will do so.
This is on the main page, but I am also adding it here:
USING WITH TEXTURE MODS:
As advertised, this mod works with other texture mods. You will have to do a little work to make this possible. So, we will use Softer Female Player Skin Textures (SFPST) as an example. To make this work, download and install my mod and your texture mod of choice, in the example, we will of course be using the aforementioned linked mod.
From my downloaded files you will see the following files:
You will need to delete the files without the WyldTats tags at the end, as those are the included texture files, and do not have the tats. So, these two files can go:
For this example, we only really need the player_model_1_texture_WyldTats file, since this is a female texture and no male texture is needed. The files with a 0 in it are male files, the ones with a 1 in it are the female files. Next, you will go find the texture file in the new mod. For the SFPST mod, the main texture file is named:
player_model_1_MainTex.png
You will need to rename the WyldTats file to match this file so the tats will show up. The renamed file from my download will need to look like this:
player_model_1_MainTex_WyldTats.png
Then, log into the game, and the tat should appear. Now, for any mods that have their texture files named the same as mine:
hi ^^ I can't using your mod bro. I've dl custom texture and created the folder by launching the game but when i slide the tribal texture png in the custom texture folder with my rename like (tribal_main....... .png) and launching my game, nothing appears in my creation caracters menu... i d'ont understand how to exactly add your texture or make them appear
My friend, I have not been on this site in some time. My modding time is preciously non-existent due to life stuff. That said, all I do is provide designs. The following mod is what provides the means to make them seen:

Missed this somehow. These are just PNG files, a transparent overlay that I match up to the texture files. I will take a look at the skull idea, maybe come out with a new pack=)
Not going to lie, this is a tough modding scene. Either it's far lower traffic than what I am used to in games that I mod for, or it takes a ton more to impress. Alrighty, not giving up as of yet. I am going to dig into the WyldTat's vault, and see what I can come up with. If the next round doesn't do it for you, then I may have to bow out of this one.
Anyhow...don't expect anything today, as I will actually be playing Valheim today, not modding for it=)
I did save all of the tat layers, but to my knowledge, and please correct me if I am wrong, for someone to use them, they still have to merge them with the preferred skin, right? They can't just install the layer separate from the skin and have it show?
They can! You just have to name them right, and use transparency for the rest of the skin. You can read about layers on the custom textures mod description.
And to give you a head's up...I went ahead and played around with this...and I got it to work after some trial and error. Sooooo...I don't have time to do anything more today, but I will upload a version that uses the layers concept. Will see what I can do tomorrow, but more realistically, sometime Saturday=)
