Mod looks pretty cool - and it's always nice to have a purpose for all those trophies! Are you planning on migrating to the new unified Jotunn the Valheim Library? Original Jotunn is a dead end, would be nice to stop needing it (and OG Valheim Lib) altogether...
Does anyone know the tag name for the Sacrificial Altar? I'm trying to use another mod to adjust the build costs so it can be available at an earlier stage of the game, but to do that I need the tag to alter the recipe.
I am not sure what term you are looking for so here are all the terms related to the altar: "SacrificialAltar" , "Assets/CustomItems/SacrificialAltarBase.prefab" , "SacrificialAltarBase" . I hope it has been helpful.
Of course, you could also spawn the items you plan to circumvent on a local server then bring them back to your main server and build the altar.
The Altar needs: 1xYagluthDrop | 1xDragonEgg | 3xDragonTear | 20xWitheredBone
I'm curious where the data is saved. For some reason my chosen 'beast' is transferred between characters, even a newly created shows my previously binded trophy. Is there a way to make it per character?
Haha! Did not think about that! The way the data is saved in Valheim makes it hard to expand/use the saving system without significant risk to corrupting the save file (mainly when you uninstall the mod). So I decided to simply use Unity's default saving system for the small amount of data I save. I will continue doing so but will also add the name/id of the character in the save key so save data is exclusive per character. Thanks for the heads up!
Well that's good to know. From what i've noticed most mods just simply bind it to character save file, i think i've encountered only one mod that somehow creates additional .dat files in config folder, that one saves it's configuration per character ( Quick Stack )
Both seem to be working(at least i can't find anything wrong at this moment), new characters spawn without any binded trophy and characters don't share them anymore, also works without a problem with Serverside Simulations so thanks for that.
Also a little request… Any chance for a spoiler list of expected buffs from every trophy? It would help with reporting any mod incompatibilities or simply broken buffs, it's hard to do that when you're not sure what outcome we should expect. For example the leech trophy doesn't seem to do anything beyond spawning the shaman shield and its description would point it towards something connected to blood like life leech for example, also deer trophy sounds like it should negate movement speed penalty from gear, but it doesn't do that. It might be something to do with Epic Loot(or maybe even some other mod) breaking those effects or i might be wrong in what they should be doing.
I guess I could do an article on that. I figured the most fun part of that mod would be to try and experiment the powers, figure them out and exploit them. It is also meant to be a cooperative work between players, kind of a "crack the code together" thing. But yeah, the mod is not nearly popular enough for anyone to be invested in that sort of thing. I will come back in max a couple of days with that. In the meantime: the Naked Run power provides a hefty boost to your speed while you are naked. (provides a nice speed boost for travel, but is a good deal of compromise/not worth it to use in combat). The Leech power makes everyone around you (friend and foes) wet. This doesn't sound like much and by itself its pretty much useless but its very powerful as a synergetic power.
There are instructions in the main page. They might not be enough though.
Instructions: - To "unlock" the mod, obtain a Yagluth Thing. - Build a Sacrificial Altar to craft Beast Essences from excess trophies. - Sleep next to a displayed trophy to be bound to the creature it represents. - Consume a Beast Essence to unleash the power of the creature you are bound to.
If it's not enough I will try to elaborate: - First step is to obtain a Yagluth Thing, ("spawn YagluthDrop" in the console if you don't want to wait to get a Yagluth Thing) It will unlock the mod. - Now that the mod is unlocked, put an item stand next to your bed, mount a trophy, any one you like but a boss trophy. - Then interact with the bed, you will see a message on the top right corner of the screen, saying you are bound to the creature. You will also get a notification on the top right corner of the screen: the image of the trophy and the name of the creature you are bound to. -Now, to trigger the power of the creature you are bound to, use a Beast Essence, as you would any potion. ("spawn BeastEssence" in the console if you don't want to wait) -To create Beast Essences, you must build the Sactificial Altar, which needs Yagluth Thing, Dragon Egg, Dragon Tears and Withered Bones. It is in found the Crafting section. -Put Bone Fragments in the bottom section of the Sacrificial Altar, put a Trophy you don't want on the top secion of the Sacrificial Altar. The trophy will be transformed in a Beast Essence.
I hope it answers the essentials...For what each power does, I encourage discovery and experimentation. Most of either the messages displayed in the middle of the screen on activation or the name of the activated status effect will be clues as to what the power does and/or how to use it.
If you have more questions, including what's the power of x creature. I will be glad to answer!
I'm currently dabbling with this mod, and got no message that hints as to what it does. I just get 'Wolf' for my icon and ... nothing else! So far I'm not able to tell wha, precisely, it did but experimentation continues. I feel no faster or more durable and don't see other effects going on as yet.
If all you see is "Wolf" it means you have the Wolf power equipped, but it is not activated. It's a little bit like the forbidden powers (the boss powers). You must equip it then activate it.
To activate the Wolf power, you must consume a Beast Essence, they are consumed just like potions. Beast Essences are created by putting trophies in the Sacrificial Altar.
Glad this is using this Lib atm.. the other has many issues underneath playing nice at times. Updating it later as it seems to be the forward Lib will probably have many request but as it is new, waiting is not a bad idea.. gonna check this out, looks really interesting, thanks for the addition

I presented it on r/ModdedValheim!
Hope that is ok with you?!
