For anyone who couldn't get this to work on current Valheim 4-8-24: I found a version on Thunderstore by Tyrenheim that was updated 8-23-2023. I installed it normally without Thunderstore app and it worked.
UPDATE: if you look around in the comments you can find a tweaked file that fixes this excellent mod.
I am having the same issue reported on April 27, 2021. The axis circles appear as expected, and holding the respective key to choose the active selects the desired circle, but rotation does not happen on the desired axis. It just rotates pieces on the same flat plane as before.
I tried fully removing and reinstalling BepInEx and Gizmo, but no change. I added a few other mods that only require BepInEx and those are continuing to work as expected, so the issue seems isolated to Gizmo thus far. These tests were completed locally and on a dedicated server.
I am not using Valheim Plus.
Of note, the Frost Caves patch went live today so I'd imagine this is related to latest update in some capacity.
You can try installing GizmoFix alongside Gizmo. The fix also supports Gizmo Reloaded, depending on your preference (I like how rotation works in original Gizmo).
a toggle for two or three precision levels including vanilla would be awesome. Thats the only thing that precision rotation has over this mod is the ability to toggle.
Is it possible to turn off snapping (to the grid I guess) of build elements when using Gizmo? I am not talking about snapping to other elements, but it snaps to some invisible grid on the ground when trying to place doors or walls for example.
is there a way to lower the brightness of the indicator circles without lowering the brightness of the game? The brightness of the indicator often hurts my eyes. or maybe an opacity percentage setting?
