Yeah i don't understand why devs from this game are allways changing the save system for the same "system" it's like... game allways saves when we press quit button or even alt+f4 why we need a timer?! for servers maybe i can understand but for single player it's not really necessary i want to disable this timer so bad XD LOL
PLEASE UPDATE! the game is barely playable without it saving (and even an obnoxious message telling me it's going to save) and causing me to go outside and redrum all of humankind 50 times a day lol. Please update!
This mod might need an update if anyone plans to use it since patch 0.209.9. Worlds and characters will not save with this mod installed (using R2ModMan, haven't tried without).
I just lost several hours of progress after attempting to log out and seeing a message in the console about a save path error. Error was repeatable before and after moving the worlds and characters to the new directories (\worlds_local and \characters_local). Since disabling the mod, it saves as normal.
I can confirm that the saves get essentially disabled with this mod, i lost days of progress and at first i thought were Valheim Plus the issue, but since the log called for missing save path i thought might be this, and indeed the game logout as intended and the files are actually updated in the folder without it.
first of all: its a well working plugin and thank you for your job. But maybe you can add one more function? Can you add the ability to set a value for how many backups to keep? Otherwise You will get a thousands of files after a while. For example we made backups every 10 minutes in the past so we collecting over 140 files per day.
I have two ideas for that.
Variant 1: Maybe there is a way to set how many backups to keep. For example: keep the last 50 (setable value) backups. So the 51st Backup (the oldest one) will be deleted after the newest backup is finished.
Variant 2: how many backups to keep from the past days. For example: You keep all backups from a day (last 24h and/or by date). After that time, there will be a kind of cleanup running throug the folder, afterwards there ist just the amount of backups left behind, that you can set in the config bevore. The way to choos the left over files ist maybe 12 files (setable per config) so you picking a file every 2h to keep and deleting all the others to cleanup the backupfolder. (Maybe this can be extended for backups to keep, for all Days older than the 30. Day. Also an Example for that: Keep 1 Backup (maybe the latest) for every Day older than 30 Days. Call it a Variant 2 v2.0 or Variant 3 if you want so :D)
Varaint 3 (or Variant 4 if you go with the extendet variant 2 :D): You implement all the upper ones ;) and everyone can choose wich one fits best for their use.
Maybe you get my idea and you will find the time to think about it and add it. Anyway thanks for your work and that plugin.
If I assume correct, AutoSave_enabled = false and BedSave = true commands make the bed only save point in the game is that right?
Also I don't see autosave file in anywhere so I am not sure if mod is working properly or not. And I prefer to NOT learn it via hard way. Is there a way to check it? Files under AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worldsdoes not change.

Let's hope there's an update soon; the default save times are too frequent for me.
