So glad I found this, the glowing is just madness on a bow. Sadly I can't get it installed. I did put the png manually in the CustomTextures folders in the place where the (steam) Valheim game is located (so its Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim\BepInEx\plugins\CustomTextures), and I enabled both mods in Vortex, but it does not work. Anything else I can try?
Reporting that I am also seeing the bow glow. Maybe it's the new Hearth & Home update...? I know not. But I followed the instructions both for this mod and for the Custom Textures and I ensured they're all in the right location. The bow still glows.
Yes, if your bow glows with NoBowGlow installed, and assuming you've installed it and CustomTextures properly, it is definitely a problem H&H caused. I had it working for several months... until H&H. Someone on the CustomTextures thread suggested problems with that mod might be an H&H naming convention change... but I know little of such things.
If you have a fresh installation of the Bepinex Package, this works just fine with H&H. While there may be some other texture packs that required updates due to naming changes, I am unaware of which items were modified, the Draugr Fang Bow was not impacted by the new patch. You can validate this by renaming your "Bepinex" Folder to something else temporarily like "Bepinex_OLD" and then installing a fresh copy that overwrites all existing files. You need to be sure you are also updating the doorstop_libs and unstripped_corlib folders along with the winhttp.dll and start_game_bepinex scripts that are in the base folder. If you get the Denikson 5.4.1502 version that I just tested now you shouldn't have any issues. If you are loading other mods, it is likely that one or more of them is not updated properly and this creates a domino effect in other mods not working properly. By renaming your existing BepInEx folder you can validate that just your CustomTextures and NoBowGlow are working properly. Chances are, you have a legacy mod or remnant files that didn't clean out that are still causing your issue. Even just uninstalling through Steam will leave the fragments behind as Steam only removes the actual files created. Anything you add yourself remains behind even if you install again and you will go through all that work only to have the same problems if you don't follow my steps listed above.
hey im really struggling to get this to worki tried to copy the step but step but bow still glow edit. i got itb working. love the fact my bow doesnt look like a kids night light. thank you
Hey. Glad it's working for you; but be pleased to understand how you managed it. I am logging into a server game (on my network) and have NBG installed via Nexus, but also tried the manual method and I'm still having no luck at all.
I've tried all the methods listed below before the date of this post, btw.
That bow glow is horrible - in the swamps at night it's the only thing (almost) that I can see! Love to sort this.

The glow of the bow makes it hell for me to aim.
Was looking hoping someone had made a mod to fix it and here it is.
Thank you so much!
