Joel provided a change to the sailing UI so you can now see where you're steering towards while in first person
We've also fixed the void circle around the player. It's a very ugly fix and hasn't been tested during a long gaming session, but it should be fine. If it stops working mid-game, please let us know how long you've been playing and any details about when it stopped working so we can make it more robust.
We were also hoping to have a fix for some subtle jitter issues, but it's hard to consistently reproduce and even harder to solve. If you are suffering noticeably from jitter, please make a recording of it, it'll help us pinpoint the issue while we investigate further. Thanks!

1.0.5 is here! Hopefully with a few less issues than 1.0.4!
The biggest change is the head rotation feature, expanding further on what started in 1.0.4. Right now, you can configure what happens when you rotate the camera too far left or right while standing still, with various options. By default, once you try to go past your shoulders, it'll rotate your body with you so your shoulders stay in view. There's also an option for what happens when you rotate too far while in an animation such as sitting. Here you can choose to allow full 360 rotation, or limit it to left and right until you reach your shoulders, preventing you from rotating further.
There have also been a few bugfixes.
The alternative experimental helmetless mode is working decent enough, but with all the recent changes, helmet mode and no body mode have been downgraded to buggy experiments. If you use one of these modes, please let us know what your experience is like with these modes and what you'd like to see changed.
While we believe that headless together with the melee aim fix gives the best experience, there currently are many other ways to configure this mod, so there are bound to be issues with certain combinations. If you happen to run into any problems or have suggestions to improve certain combinations, please leave a comment so we can better prioritize.
At the very least, I have noticed the jitter stops happening if you try to block at all. I also have framerates of upwards of 100, and the jitter reminds me of the HaloPC third person cam jittering when the FPS was not locked to 30.
That said, locking the framerate to 60 did not fix the stutter, but DID make it stutter slower.
Any chance of a Hearth and Home update? The mod's basic functions still work, but the FOV cannot be changed. The default 65 is basically unplayable for a PC gamer.
This is the Best 1st person view mod, and it has lasted years without needing an update. Bless this Mod! I saw Valheim added 'Directional' hitting as menu option, so maybe all the lesser 1st person mods will work like this one now xD.
This mod still works great to this day, however if you are having problems with not being able to hit stuff, go into the config folder and change this one setting from true to false. example below. After doing that attack mobs and chopping trees works perfectly again.
## [Experimental] Changes the default melee attack direction (which is always straight forward from your body) into a direction based on your head camera.# Setting type: Boolean# Default value: trueMeleeAimFix = false
Really great first person mod! I've tried some other first person mods, but this is my favorite! It works really well and I've had no problems with it thus far!
There hasnt been a new or updated first person for a while. This one still has issues like the stuttering and the Dverger circlet not working when you zoom out then zoom back in. hopefully someone picks this up or makes an updated FPV mod
Framerates are fine. It's camera jitter causing this. Sadly it seems the author has moved on or is busy with RL or something, so unless a code wizard can crack this open and take a look, I'm afraid it will be something we just have to deal with. :(
Are there plans to update this to address the jittering? I really love this mod and have really no issues with it, but that's the one thing that kind of sucks to deal with.
If the author is still active and just hasn't figured out how to fix it, it seems that rotating the player model in some way is what's causing it, and interestingly enough, Kailen's first person mod along with leseryk's combat overhaul manages to allow jitter-free rotation. Maybe something about the way those two mods interact to achieve it could be used in this mod to provide jitter-free camera movement? Just spitballing.

It works great and is highly customizable.
