Hey folk if you have an error message in the program under the mod or tuning tab. You have to move the cdb_100.xml and mdb_100.xml from ""\Inside Operations\Two Worlds Control Panel"" to ""C:\Users\"User Name"\AppData\Roaming\TwoWorldsCP"" that should fix it.
Consider that most mods need different versions of the game most of the time the mod version go in line with the game version.
Have fun :)
:Disclaimer:
"Two Worlds version 1.7 is still considered to be compatible to the control panel but the mods are mostly from version 1.5 or predates even this, so you can play the latest release and enhance it but thats it, modpacks will not apply."
Please dont even try to get anything to work with the Steam version or the latest version of the game (1.7), it will not go well. Most of the modpacks that we're released for this game did so on service release 1.5 and will only work with this version, sometimes even not that because some written/modded stuff could only work on windows xp sp2... I uploaded a picture of game box you should use for this, it will if you not have it already cost you maybe 5 - 7 $ or Euro and you should never pay more for it...Serious don't let someone convince you otherwise..
You also need to activate some old legacy features on windows and some other stuff but that should be known or you can search it up on google. That doens't mean nothing will work most mods and stuff from the old forum works on windows 10, that said you guys will have to learn a bit about how this old timer works to get the stuff running.
There should be a problem with the cutscenes especially with the end-cutscene of the game that fails to play, this happens because windows lags a specific driver that was more common when win xp was around, this thing is also really hard to find especially cause it most of time turns out to be a malware and not the actual thing, you maybe start to get how much time i invested into this only to get ripped XD. I'm actually not really sure if this driver still even works right on win 10.
For anyone who wants to play with a controller; the Xbox One and Series S/X controllers do work. You do not need to go out of your way to get a 360 controller if you already have the newest controllers.
"cannot locate Two Worlds and that I need to repair the registry."
Just say OK. It will ask you to find the directory TW is currently in. Just navigate to it. In my case, it was in c:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steam Apps/Common/Two Worlds.
Yeah i guess there is google and the readme you google it like this: google: Two Worlds Control Panel wooosh oh reading ah ha... aha oh so this is how it works. This is more a resource for people who know the game and the modding scene behind it. Even if you are not one of those esteemed people its not that hard to understand how this works i had a potato windows xp pc and 2k broadband internet also i was 14 years back then guess what hell i was suffering.XD
Yeah.... so there is a sticky post above reading is a requirement. If you ask nicely people will help. If you are not willing to learn stuff by yourself you can't have the cake and i or any other modder who is doing this in their freetime owe you nothing. I wish people had commen sence....
Moving cdb_100.xml and mdb_100.xml does not help anymore. Furthermore, even if I delete them in AppData, they are created upon opening tab, but errors persist. Any idea what's wrong here?
UPD: I think, I figured the problem and a workaround. Whenever I launch CP (after PC reboot, possibly log off-in) and switch into tune or mods tab, the program goes into AppData/Roaming folder and corrupts corresponding cdb or mdb file (it becomes 1kb size), after that it gives the error as always. Solution: launch, go to the tab. Wait until it corrupts file and gives error. Put a backup copy instead of corrupted file. Start again, it works now.
if people complain the mods are not installing. then, the mods are not included. (the list is there,no mods) you have to google them and put them in the mods folder, in the two worlds install folder. i found the mod pack once, but i just googled it. now nothing. (else i`d put a link) anybody know if i can upload it to Mega. legally? or email it to people. oh, also try to find the WD packager. very handy tool.
the mod downloading thingie doesnt work at all :V and the website it takes me to when i "view details" is flagged as a malicious site, so... yknow. Thats not fun.
Hey there. I've downloaded the Control Panel, but when I try to start it up, it tells me that it cannot locate Two Worlds and that I need to repair the registry. It also gives this error message;
