Is NG+ disabled with this mod? I just beat the game and it sent me back to the title screen. I tried loading and reloading the data, continuing instead of loading, looked through the instructions (on github and the main website) and options, and can't figure it out.
I know I could start a new game and edit the save file, but that's going to take a while. EDIT: Okay, it didn't take as much time as I thought it would.
For anyone else who wants to do it, start a new save, then find your save files (probably under %appdata%/locallow/Andrew Shouldice/Secret Legend/Saves). They're simple text files so they can be opened in anything. I'd suggest grabbing all the text from the complete game, throwing it into an excel-like program, sort, then copy the stuff you want into the new game's save file (at the bottom). As an example, here's the list of stuff I copied into my game:
Hi there, NG+ normally doesn't work with the randomizer (and as you saw, the option to enter it is removed completely when beating the game).
If you're looking to have the NG+ enemies appear during the randomizer, I released a new update today (Ver. 4.2.0), which changes the "Extra Enemies" setting under the Enemy Randomizer settings menu to work with vanilla enemies, so you can turn that on (and keep the enemy randomizer option itself off) to keep vanilla enemies but have the NG+ enemies appear. Hope that helps!
That will help, yeah, but I was also hoping to keep the normal ng+ stats and items, like how many times I threw the dynamite, and the restock values, and number of potions, etc. I don't remember which things were normally kept and which were normally dropped at ng+ so I "kept" a lot more by save editing than I probably should have (and i could probably just look that information up sometime).
But it's still fun, thanks for the randomizer! I'm currently going through a run where grass drops stuff and that's certainly a wild ride.
Love the mod, but the steam deck guide did not work for me. The issue is that proton tricks picks the wrong folder to apply the dll overide to and doesn't seem to have a way to change it. In order to get bepinex to work for Tunic specifically you seem to need to use another version of wine tricks.
For me I set up Tunic in a wine prefix in the Lutris app.
1. Download Lutris app, configure your steam library. 2. Download tunic through lutris (probably not necessary) 3. Hit configure and change the runner to wine 5. Under game options select the executable as tunic.exe (you can find it by right-clicking tunic in steam-manage-browse local files) 6. Under wine prefix select a location for the game files to be stored (I chose /home/deck/Games/Tunic but you can choose any location) 7. Extract the bepinex x64 file found in the tunic randomizer to your tunic folder (can be done in any step, the tunic folder should be located in /home/deck/Games/Tunic/dosdevices/d:/steamapps/common/TUNIC/ during this step) 8. In Lutris click on the wine glass next to play and open up wine tricks-select the default wineprefix-install a windows DLL or component-select winhttp and hit ok. 9. Launch Tunic through Lutris to activate bepinex 10. The bepinex folder you extracted in step 7 should now have new folders including plugins-put the "TunicRandomizer.dll" you downloaded in the newly created plugin folder 11. Next time you launch through Lutris it should be as a randomizer
Optional steps to be able to launch through steam library/gamingmode: Right Click tunic in lutris-create application menu shortcut-search for tunic in steam's system search- right click the tunic without an icon image-add to steam-Now that you have the Tunic randomizer as a non steam game-You can rename to something distinctive in properties and add in custom artwork by search "Tunic" in steamgriddb
Hope that help somebody save the hours of trial and error I needed to go through to figure this out.
Kind of stuck here, faries keep telling me there's a treasure here but I can't seem to find the chest hidden by the Fox Statue in the East Forrest, would love any help if anyone has found this one
It's a holy cross puzzle that is normally solved by translating the back cover of the instruction manual. In the vanilla game, solving it spawns a chest that rewards the player a single bit of money. Since it's not a critical puzzle or tied to an achievement it can be pretty easy to miss or have never seen at all to begin with, but the chest is still included in the randomizer's item pool. The code to spawn it is:
Awesome mod! My friend and I love playing it and racing each other! The keys for information are great too!
Just an ask, would you consider adding an option in the menu to turn off randomization? This would allow to play vanilla while keeping the info panels available, plus not having to delete the mod everytime we want to play vanilla.
We want to play bingo and lockout race and this would be incredible <3
Sorry for just seeing this now, but I'm glad you are enjoying the randomizer! Currently, it is not planned to be able to turn off randomization within the mod, but I will keep it in mind for future releases. If you want updates on the mod or have any other suggestions/feedback, feel free to join the Tunic Speedrun discord, where we have a dedicated channel for it! https://discord.gg/HXkztJgQWj :)
