I really like these. Thank you for creating this! However, I seem to have an issue that was described here a couple of times already: the small character images are fine, but whenever I check the character status or find one of them in diplomacy screen the vanilla image is pasted onto the new pretty one. Is there a way to fix this?
@lovemyneisa, I know a few minutes ago I write a comment here but I dont want to edit this because I found a solution that worked for me.
So as I stated below I created a .pack file with your files and correct the "ui" spelling thing. That does not leads me to success...
But after I write my comment here I tested the script edit...and it works! So if you have troubles try to create a pack file and copy it to the games data folder. Then navigate to x:\Users\xyz\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\ThreeKingdoms\scripts there should be a .txt called "user.script.txt". If you don't have it just create it and add the line "mod (yourpackname).pack;"

@internallevo, did you make sure that the pack file has the same structure as the data.pack? I mean if you use PFM or RFM did you add the "ui" folder and not the "StandaloneFemaleWaterStrategistsPack" folder and did you change "UI" to "ui"?
Which game build did you use right now the new update or the beta patch. My workaround is only for the new update not the beta.
Just to be sure and to explain how I did it: I use RFM (rusty file manager) and create a new pack file by adding the "UI" folder which I renamed to "ui". I saved this pack as "red_pretty_strategist.pack". After that I navigate to the x:\Users\xyz\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\ThreeKingdoms\scripts folder and open my user.script.txt. Because I use Radious' mod I already have two entries so I add the line "mod red_pretty_strategist.pack;" below them.
Pleace make sure that you have a space between "mod" and "modname" and the line have to finish with ";". Don't get me wrong Im not blaming you I just try to find a solution that works for all and as soon as I delete the added line without deleting the pack file the whole thing is not working. So I think it has to do with the script for everyone...

Second with this combination does your game starts or did it crash. If it starts then your mod will be loaded but have no effect error, if it crashes then there is a coding error. In both cases the problem is that you try to edit a unique character. The original mod edits the appereance of the strategist who is not a "named"/special character. For the editing/manupulation od unique things we should wait until the official mod support arrives. Even unit mods and startpos edits are a pain at the moment...
Anyways if you opt in the normal game there is a possibility that the workaround functions - till the new beta becomes the new patch. ...then we have to find another

@lovemyneisa , i think you will need to write a .pack file to go along with this mod, which will lead the game to read these files. I think the game is not reading these face files after update and only .pack files.
So i think the way to fix this is to write a .pack file which will tell the game to access and use these files.

@graphyx, I tested to create a .pack file (Im a total war modder) and it seems not to work. I went through the files of the base game and the mod and compared everything but as said without success.

Yes. I will try that. The issue yesterday was that I change the modified time and it worked on my game. So I change the modified time on the folders and uploaded them. I will definitely try your method.

1.Download a program or use something that can allow you to change the date modified field in the meta data. I used BulkFileChanger: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/bulk_file_changer.html 2.In the case of BulkFileChanger go to File->Add by Wildcard 3.Point it to the folder with a /* after it 4.Select Infinite for subfolder depth and hit okay. 5.Now click on any of the files that show up. Hit Control + A on your keyboard to select everything 6.Go to Actions->change file time/attributes. 7.Check the modified row and change the year to somewhere in the future. Hit Okay 8.Done

I think there should be picture files in the composites\large_panel\normal or \angry folders. I think there must be pictures there to show the new image.
I try to test the image put files torso.png all 3 folder [norm,happy,angry] in \composites\large_panel and small_panel Including test putting all images in all 3 folders
And still copy legs.png in 3 folder found that this section still does not show the same results, lt Show in part only stills
Very True, I was having this update yesterday while I am still currently working on a new mod project.And guess what guys, I cannot display ANY graphics changes from ANY graphics mods (not only for water strategists). I had no idea what CA is thinking. They really seem to love their original "beautiful" facepacks.I will try to fix the issue today and this weekend but it does not look good.

Only UI works for me, the actual character portrait when you pull up the character screen, it doesn't show

I can tell you that the whole 3k modding community is trying to save their mods from the latest update. For graphics mod, just do the following:
1.Download a program or use something that can allow you to change the date modified field in the meta data. I used BulkFileChanger: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/bulk_file_changer.html
