The best reshade since it mostly just spruces the game's graphics up and makes it look perfect.

Thank you, this was exactly my goal :)

I dived into it a bit more and might add a version which adds very subtle MXAO (version of ambient occlusion) and subtle and fast Global Illumination. I test it currently on my PC and it looks really nice in TR2, but I need to see more scenery to decide and fine tune it.

EDIT: Its done and released HERE

Thank you very much for this great work. Can it be used on Steam Deck? It's where I'm playing the game

I always stay away from using ReShade because i'm not into changing the original image, the only time i used it before was for AC: Syndicate to add AA, but it doesn't seem like they'll ever add a brightness slider to Tomb Raider and after straining my eyes for 20 hours i ended up here and this is soooo much better, thank you.

You are welcomed. I think Eye adaptation is a key for this game. Its how human eye works and it naturally makes the dark parts brighter. Rest of the effects I added are just to make the visuals a touch better and a little bit brighter/sharper :)

Can I just add Eye Adaptation to my existing ReShade setup?

Sure could, but your upload is just an .ini, but I found EyeAdaption.fx from another ReShade setup I had and plopped it into the folder. Can you upload the reshade-shaders folder with the stuff your config uses?

Kindly read the 1st page - section "INSTALATION"
All these shaders will be downloaded automatically when you follow those steps

Read my original comment. People don't want to reinstall things that already work.

I will just link people to shader separately for drag and drop. I found multiple versions on the web though.

Thanks for this.  Much better than having to turn up the brightness on my TV.  Hopefully patch will add gamma to game.

    Hi,

I just clicked this for no real reason and I must say I really like what your doing here! Trying to not change the overall look of the game instat making little improvments to make it look just a little bit more modern with a touch from better lighting + more sharpening the image is a very cool way to do it!

For me personal i would like if you try to get a little bit more contrast into the image and a personal tip of mine:

If you check the "haze" shader - this shader makes the image a little bit blury at the distance and gives the illusion of a "world" - specially if the rest of the image is more sharp - works awesome!

But overall a good reshade so far :).

I would like to a reshade as you explained. How would you handle contrast without making it too dark in the darkest areas?

Aurion, yes thats exactly what will happen when u increase contrast, thats why I did not do that. Increasing contrast makes darker parts even darker. As I said, less is more. Because to increase contrast without darkening dark parts, you need to use another effects which will just further distort image elswhere.
