    Hello merlu!

    New question lol.

There are some Dye and Potion folders/files in the mod. They are also have the extra prefix/suffix lines in the files.

What exactly do they do? I mean on items I know it's permanent, but how does it work for potions and dyes, which are oneshot items?

Just trying to get a better understanding and thanks. :)

P.S. Also, I spent some time over the last few days (when I had time lol) to see if I could get item drops in my level range. I think I almost have it now. I had to remove the RNG folder and edit the files that used that folder. I will be testing it later today or tomorrow after a few more edits. (for personal use ofc)

I don't know well what they do. All I did was simply edit all the files with prefix/suffix lines uniformly. It was done mechanically, so it wasn't written with any specific intent
When I played the game using this mod, no issues occurred, so I didn't take any other measures. :P It's sort of a dummy file. Haha.

      Hello merlu!

Haha no worries. I'm all set now and enjoying the mod. :)

P.S. After testing it for a few hours last night farming the Gorgon sisters and a few others, it now drops items within my level range (+/- 2-4 level, with an oddball here and there). And even one stonebinders dropped(!), though w/o the attack speed affix I was hoping for...oh well lol. But I couldn't have done all that w/o all the work you put into the mod. Thank you! :)

    Hello merlu!

I don't know if you'll check the comment section or not, but I had 1 or 2 questions if that's ok. :)

    1. I noticed that when I used version 0.1 that the dropped item requirements varied greatly, up to level 42, while my character was only level 3. Is this normal?
    - For example, a fire staff dropped that required INT 43, but was level 60 to equip.

I will switch to version 0.2 for normal drop rates, the other was too many drops lol.

    2. What files do I need to use just for the prefix/suffix change on items only or do I need to use all the files?
    - For example. can I just use affix folder/files and not the deviation files?

    3. What is the jitter line for? (the one where it's set to 50. Is that the deviation line or something else?

Thanks for any info you can provide! :)

I'm not the mod author, but I will explain the first question.

Item level requirement is defined by the affixes that rolls on the item, so if it Rolls [Allfathers] the staff now requires lvl 68 to equip. I''m not going to open up the mod myself to check, but I am guessing since he states all items now use "all affixes", then unless he changes how the mod works, It's normal.

For question 1, blackswordmon has provided an explanation. Thank you.
For question 2, most files are required, excluding deviation files. To exclude 'deviation files,' you simply need to exclude the 'lootmagicalaffixes' folder within.
Regarding question 3, it pertains to setting options for affixes. For a more detailed explanation, it would be beneficial to refer to https://titanquest.4fansites.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10738

Hello blackswordmon, thank you for the reply!

That makes sense that the level required is based on the affixes itself. I guess I'll have to look at the files again and see how to tone it down.

Though I'll try version 0.2 if it makes a difference. Since I'd rather not tweak 2 sets of files lol.

Oh wow, just as I replied to blackswordmon, you replied also lol.

Thank you for the reply merlu!

for #1 - Is there a way for me to keep it within my level range by editing some of the files? (even a folder name to start is good enough to work with)

for #2 - Does the deviation affect the level requirements as well? Or is that just pertaining to #1?

for #3 - I'll look at that site, thanks.

Thank you for all the answers. My main hope was to get a chance for both affixes on item drops, but also to keep the drops level appropriate so they were viable as I leveled up.

One of the biggest reason I like this mod is I was hoping to get affixes for pet items, since I'm a huge pet class fan. Was trying you get flat dmg and base armor on a ring same time for example. I tried shopping for it, but sheesh, it takes forever lol. I also didn't want to use TQVault to "cheat" cheat the items, since it is possible to create such an item apparently.

For question 1 Unfortunately, the feature you asked about is indeed possible, but it would require modifying a significant number of files, which could be very time-consuming and tedious. The reason for this is because you'd need to check the levelRequirement value for each individual prefix and suffix file, which are separated by file within the lootmagicalaffixes folder. Then, you'd have to appropriately divide the names of the prefix and suffix files into the affixes table based on their required levels (similar to how it's structured within the rng folder of this mod). Afterward, you'd need to input the affixes table into all items with corresponding levels. Therefore, it's not recommended.
Another approach would be to set the levelRequirement value of all prefix and suffix files to 0. This method is much quicker and simpler. However, it's akin to cheat.
For question 2 As for the second option, I haven't experimented with whether the deviation value affects level requirements. However, it seems unlikely to have any effect. This is purely speculative on my part.

      Have a good game! :D

for #1 - You're right, it is tedious. I've done several 100 files for another mod for a merging and it took hours lol. I'll have to see if it's worth it. But then again, this is a game that one can easily put in 100's of hours, so 20 or so hours invested might still be worth it. I'll have to time a small number to see how long it takes.

You're also right in that lowering the req to 0 indeed be a OP cheat, which I certainly don't want. I'll do a little more digging to see if there are any other global options. I also saw somewhere that the gameengine.dbr file may have settings that affect affixes on drops as well.

for #2 - I'll do some testing and report back.

P.S. I'm willing to take all this time cause that's how much I like this type of mod. :)

    Hello again merlu!

Hope you don't mind, but new question lol.

It seems items that drop have strange names like staff of x4 something something. Longer names than typical magical items.

Q1: Is it related in any way to the hidePrefix and hideSuffix lines found in certain files?

    • These looked like basic magical items, but had up to 5 affixes on them I believe.
    • Since you didn't include a text ARC file, I'll assume it has nothing to do with tags for item name/descriptions.

hidePrefixName and hideSuffixName determine whether the corresponding unique item will use affixes or not. If these values are set to 1, affixes will not be used.
Also, I'm not a professional modder for Titan Quest, so it's difficult for me to provide exact answers. :P

Oh, it seems I misexplained. HidePrefixName and HideSuffixName appear to indicate whether the item name will be displayed or not. The presence of affixes is determined by loottables, specifically by values such as bothPrefixSuffix, prefixOnly, suffixOnly, prefixRandomizerChance, and suffixRandomizerChance.

      Hello merlu!

I think you're an awesome modder accomplishing this much. I'm learning alot from you and the other modders. Also, I've yet to see a mod that didn't have a couple of hiccups early on. It's a lot of files and a lot of work you modders. :)

That's good to know about those hide lines. I'll have to look into setting a few to 1 that dropped previous and see if those types drop with 2-4 additional names are attached to the item. I got time to test for a bit, so I'll play around it some more and post back the results.

I'm also gonna look into batch files. People have created those in the past that handle multiple files changes with just running a single .bat file.
