If you're having trouble installing this, Titan Quest loads "Settings" overrides by matching what it sees in the "Resources" folder. You can treat .arc files as subfolders.
So if you open your "Resources" folder, you should see something like this:

When you're extracting/copying to your "Settings" folder, for the TitanTex archive, which is for the base game, you want to take the Creatures, Items, Scenery etc folders and put them directly in "Settings".

For the XPack archives, you want to take the parent "XPack" folder and put them into "Settings".
If you did everything correctly, your settings folder should look like this:
You place all the files inside the settings folder. If you play at 1080p, it may not be as noticeable since the game is using lower res mipmaps anyways.
I open the rar file, clicked inside the TitanTex folder Then I select all the files inside After that, I went to the Titan Quest Anniversary Edition folder Selected the folder Settings and extracted all the files from the rar to the Settings folder
For some reason this doesnt work on gog version. I cant see any difference after 2 days of downloads... I extrated to settings but nothing happens. I would expect some extra time to loading new textures also but nothing.
Those files are raw format. I delete as many of them as I can find but with 20k+ textures I overlook them. If you find the texture for it in my mod and delete it. It will fix the issue with the icon. My mod would not stop you from being able to pick up the item though. That is definitely another issue.
I can confirm that I was not able to pick up the Fire Relic; it kept saying my inventory was full even though it wasn't, even when it was empty; until I removed firerelicui.tex.
Judging by the date of your comment, that means this is still an issue in the most recent version? Is there a way to tell which textures are problematic before we just run across them in-game?
I'm gonna delete it asap. The devs are funny, they put 99% of bitmaps in folder labeled, but as! Then mix some in, to other folders lmao. It's an easy fix, I'll post how to fix soon. I haven't beaten TQ with the mod yet. Ty for letting me know about this!
At the time of my post I was using the previous version of TitanTex with the latest Xpacks which are over a year old. I've since downloaded the latest update of TitanTex but I presume that wouldn't make a difference as TitanTex is for the base game and firerelicui.tex is specific to Xpack2.
To anyone who dislikes the screenshots: It actually looks and "feels" much better ingame than just looking at a screenshot. Compared to the original it's better. I wasn't sure either just looking at the screens but it's quite nice.
i'm guessing the much cleaner image is the upscale, or? e.g cobble stones suddenly being very clean. It took the detail as "noise" and just removed it..
That detail is not detail. It is noise. In game it looks much better and cleaner up close. They purposely did that with low res textures back in the day to get them to pop still when zoomed out far from the player character. I am currently in the process of keeping some of them in the colormaps. I separate each texture individually into R G B and A, I will be changing my approach a little bit in the next iteration. Maybe download it and check it out before you comment on a 2160p picture I had to shrink down to 720p because nexus is "not good" and only allows 8mb pngs.
I would love to but there is a 8mb limit on the photos and 4k photos are much larger. I literally have to shrink them to 1080p to get them to work. They do not do it justice. Its worth the overnight download. Trust me.

Large titanic poitions (energypotion04b.tex, lifepotion04b.tex). Prowler's Cuffs (mi_tigermanmeleeb_ui.tex) in Act 3 cannot be picked up. firerelicui.tex too.
Edit: Clarified comment.
Thanks for creating the mod!
Edit: What does the new Rename.bat do?
Thanks! :)
