This is awesome. Does it work on The Surge 2? (i assume not since even if its same engine it would have different shaders?). If not, are there any plans to make a version for Surge 2?
This won't work on The Surge 2, and since game switched dx11 for Vulkan API, modding it will present some extra challenge. On that topic though, Lords of the Fallen (2014) also uses Fledge Engine (dx11), and I am working on adding support for this game.
.addon should be placed in game's folder, where TheSurge.exe is located and ReShade was installed. In this case that would be something like: steamapps\common\The Surge\bin From there addon should be loaded automatically by ReShade. There is no ReShade effect required, this part really is up to you though a lot of effects don't support native HDR anyway.
This is not a ReShade preset. RenoDX only uses ReShade to load into the game, then modifies game's rendering process to achieve better results than an overlayed post-processing.

Hope this helps
