So I found another way to do this with Existing Vampires. It follows the same way Einhornyordle instructs but instead of using a Skill Reset Potion (I personally couldnt find this). I used MCCC to reset my Vampire's weakness points. So the steps are (assuming youre an existing vampire):

    1. Spend all of your Weakness Points BEFORE INSTALLING THE MOD
    2. Install the mod and then once in game, click on MC Command Center in Pie Menu -> MC Cheats -> Occult Cheats -> Vampire Cheats -> Reset Weaknesses. Then exit MCCC and go into the Vampire Perk Tree and your Weakness Points should be reset with none to spend, because following Ein's instructions the mod "freezes" the perk points and since you spent them all..well you dont have any refunded.

Hope this helps if people read this far in, I thought it was easier and better for MCCC users and simply because it helps you specifically reset your weaknesses and nothing else.

MCCC USERS: The above is a resolution for existing vampires.

      Thank you Atticus190.

I've added the information to the description page.  As for the Skill Reset potion, it's a cocktail drink you make called, Draught of Reconfiguration.  You learn how to make it by bringing up your Vampiric Lore to level 14 from reading Vampiric Material.  I'll add this information under the Non MCCC user section.

      Thanks again.

I played around with this mod for a while to figure out how it works and why it might not work for existing vampires.

The mod freezes the "weaknesses to choose" number (I will call them "weakness points" from now on) to whatever value it has when the mod is installed. This explains why it always works for new vampires but only sometimes for existing ones.

New vampires start with 0 weakness points and since the mod freezes this number, it will never go up, therefore you will never be forced to spend them on weaknesses.

Existing vampires however might already have some unspent weakness points. If that is the case, the number will still be frozen to that number, preventing you from ever choosing perks again since you can't save spent perk points without also spending all your weakness points.

Therefore, to make it work for existing vampires too, you first have to spend all weakness points so that the value hits 0, then install the mod so that the value stays at 0 no matter what and now you can continue playing with the weaknesses you chose or, to get rid of all of them, drink the potion that resets all your skills because now that the value is frozen to 0 it will not increase any more even after drinking said potion.

I hope this clears the confusion and helps someone out in the future.

NON MCCC USERS: The above is a resolution for existing vampires.

Thank you for this information.  The "freezing" is kind of like the perk points getting baked into saves.  So your information makes sense.  I made a note of this post on the description page for people to try this method on their existing Vampires.

"To make it work for existing vampires too, you first have to spend all weakness points so that the value hits 0, then install the mod so that the value stays at 0 no matter what and now you can continue playing with the weaknesses you chose or, to get rid of all of them, drink the potion that resets all your skills because now that the value is frozen to 0 it will not increase any more even after drinking said potion."

Just wanted to let everyone know I just tried this mod today, and it works perfectly! Adding more info regarding the existing vampire problem for who needs it.

I had an already existing vampire with 3 weaknesses, and I did what Einhornyordle suggested:

    1) made sure the weaknesses points are used up so the weakness counter says zero
    2) saved and exited the game, installed this mod
    3) went back into game and using the base game cheat "bucks.lock_all_perks_for_bucks_type 40962 simID false"
(where simID can be found with this cheat "sims.get_sim_id_by_name Firstname Lastname") I removed all existing weaknesses

So yeah! weaknesses removed, counter on zero, and I was able to choose powers and save it with no problems

    Thanks for this mod!!

Unless there's a revamp/update to Vampires and their skills/weakness directly, this mod will always keep working and will not need updating.

I have no idea how to mod the Sims games, but is there anyone who might know how to do a mod like this one for the Werewolves to allow Werewolves to choose their randomized debuffs/buffs?  I'm currently having to use Lunar Howl and just reload the save every time I fail to get the right spread of traits.

Or if there's already a mod that works for that purpose?

I just started playing Sims 4 again, but I don't have Werewolves right now.  If I decide to get it I'll look into it, but have you tried MCCC? - https://deaderpool-mccc.com/#/

MCCC allows you to change stuff with occult.  I don't know what options it has for Werewolves, since I can't see any options for it due to not having the pack.  You might want to try that mod first rather than getting into Sims4Stuido - https://sims4studio.com/ - since you don't know how to mod Sims games (yet XD).  But if you want to learn how to mod Sims 4, you start with Sims4Studio.  The majority of authors use it to mod Sims 4.

MCCC lets you change/tune most of everything in the game.  Use Deaderpool's (the author of MCCC) discord for MCC for help if needed.

I managed to find the command codes to change their temperaments somewhere.  Now I just load a werewolf I fixed up and make new Sims from that one.

Did you install this mod mid-game?  If you read the description, this mod works on new games and new Vampires ONLY.  Skills are baked into saves and cannot be changed.  You can try what Einhornyordle wrote to use this mod on current games.  It is pinned above.  No guarantee it will work, as I never tried it myself.

I went in game and checked myself, this mod is still working.

Could I simply cure my vampire, then become a vampire again and have no weakness points like that?

You'd just have to try it.  I don't see why not.  I never cured a Vampire to test that out.

This mod saved me after I accidentally gave my vampire too many weakness points through MCCC when I didn't know what I was doing... Used the method in the sticky comment and I'm finally free. I wanted to have SOME weaknesses but I want to choose only as many as I want

This mod doesn't touch anything about vampire knowledge.  Just in case, I tested it with old saves, new games, old vampires, new vampires, etc.  I am unable to recreate your issue.

Another mod is creating your issue.

I am using this in conjunction with the free perks mod and I am already at the highest tier vampire level. The check mark is greyed out when I want to confirm that I want all of my perks without a weakness but when I select a weakness to make the /5 number go down it stays at 5 weaknesses left. Odd.

The Draught of Reconfiguration is just something people could try before making a new Vampire or game. It may or may not work. There was someone who used the Draught and it worked for them, but I can not confirm this myself. As for as I know you have to make a new Vampire since the perk points are embedded into saves.

If you make a new Vampire you can use MCCC or cheat codes to get your Vampire back to max level. You can use them to get everything else; skills, relationships, job, etc; as well back to where your Sim left off as in your current game.

The weakness being grayed out is due to not having a new Vampire. Since the draught didn't work, the perk points are still baked into your saves.

The part about the number 5 not going down is because the unlock cost of a weakness was changed from 1 to 0. Weakness don't cost anything, so the number 5 won't go down. I have done it this way so people have the freedom to choose a weakness or not.

If you're seeing that number five, the mod is not working correctly. Only reason for this is because it isn't a new Vampire and/or a new game (if draught doesn't work). If you make a new Vampire and use a cheat to max level it really quick to test the mod, you should still see a 0 on the weakness side but still be allowed to choose any weakness or not if you don't want any.

Unfortunately, if the draught doesn't work you'll have to make a new Vampire. Perks are baked into saves. There isn't anything I can do about saved information.
