Beside subjective of personal taste/preference, I knew that so many type and models of Monitors/TVs out there. LCD/LED/OLED/QLED ; IPS/TN/VA... etc.And they have their own characteristic (from neutral colors to vibrant colors, high to low gamma/black levels/white point, etc).
Therefore I made a simple adjustment UI for this mod. You can adjust Dark Level, Light Intensity, Color Saturation, etc.by press END keyboard button to show-up Reshade UI. Just adjust the value to matching with your current screen (Monitor/TV) profile or fit with your taste/liking.
Turn down Light Intensity (to zero or less) and Increase the Dark Level value higher; if its may too bright in your screen. Turn-down Color Saturation value if you feels the color is too strong for you, or increase it if you think the color is too weak.... and so on. ;)
Keep in mind this is a custom shader, not just a regular Reshade preset. With this custom shader You can create your own various presets based on this custom shader (by press "+" (plus symbol) button on the top right corner from UI).
Happy gaming and cheers,
Chris
Tips: - For OLED display, if you feel the scene become too dark, then you may turn down the "Dark Level" value slightly - This shader optimized for NVIDIA DLSS. If you are using AMD FSR and found the image become slightly shimmering; then please turn-down this shader "Sharpness" value (lower than +0.725) - if you pursuit better image quality (less ghosting and shimmering) and fps stability, you may try to downgrade your NVIDIA DLSS runtime (nvngx_dlss.dll) to version 2.5.1 (The game originally using DLSS runtime version 3.1.2). You can download this older version of DLSS runtime from here: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ .... DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP your original file (nvngx_dlss.dll) before apply this older version. Here a sample result with DLSS 2.5.1:
Damn, my favorite reshade doesn't seem to be compatible with the latest version of the game when using AMD frame gen. Unsure if it works with frame gen off, but from the Reshade.log and some testing I've narrowed it down to specifically this Reshade unfortunately. Best Reshade I've found but after around 5 mins came just crashes to desktop. :/ Thanks for all your reshades!! For any game I always check if you've made one. @crubino
Great preset, appreciate the hard work! Quick question though, on an OLED, do you leave the in-game HDR on or turn it off with the preset? It's little too "blue-ish" in my opinion with in game HDR enabled.
The mod is very nice, but when I'm doing a permanent death mode or a speed run, the game sometimes crashes and all my progress is lost, so I turned off the mod, but it didn't work. I want to uninstall it. Even though the installation is simple, I couldn't completely uninstall it. Can you help?
Guys can someone pls help me I cannot make reshade work, I install it successfully and the menu shows up but seconds after the first loading screen the game crashes I have tried every reshade but it won't work how did u guys get it to work?
What a fantastic reshade. This one really matches my personal aesthetics. It's a soft touch that just makes the game pop a bit more and look a little more dynamic. The fact that it's a custom shader is very impressive and that it has configuration options is outstanding. Really great work, can't thank enough. Makes spending time in TLOU world just a bit more pleasant, but still keeping the creepy atmosphere.
I’m sorry for being so late to reply your post. Since I have so many mods in Nexusmods (from custom shaders, textures mods, character mods, etc.) for many game titles. So forgive me if I might missed some post and comments.
And for temporary, I should left TLOU world for a while, since I need a huge space for other new games (e.g Cyberpunk 2077 with new RT Overdrive edition), and some my personal VR game projects based on UE5 and Unity, then I un-installed TLOU for a while. Maybe I will comeback later after this game get more updates for better performance. Better performance meaning there would be more room for us to put more shader effects into the vanilla graphic ;).
hey there! looks lovely again like with you dead space version :) one question, when going back to dlss 2.5.1, is lod fix needed as well? like with DS?
