The file locations have not changed from what I can tell. At least since I started playing. The Engine.ini file needs to go into this folder: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\TheKillingAntidote\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

No, that's not your pc. This removes something that is called TAA. It's the game's anti-aliasing solution. The reason i removed it is because it just blurs and smudges EVERYTHING and it looks horrible, however, removing it will have some drawbacks and some of those are what you mentioned. Edges and stuff like hair look pretty bad without any kind of AA applied. It's just going to be a pick your poison situation. Either bad looking hair and edges or the smudgy blurriness over the entire image.

Well, that's the weird part. I honestly don't think DLSS is actually implemented although it's there because the files for it are present but it's only FSR available in the options in game. If you check the ini file in this mod, you'll notice an entry that says "r.NGX.Enable=0". That's DLSS, you can try setting that to 1 to see if it works but honestly, I doubt it and even if it did work, it's just a toggle so you wouldn't be able to adjust it at all. I suppose you could look up some kind of DLSS agnostic mod that works with any UE4 game. I've never bothered with these things but it wouldn't surprise me if some kind of mod were out there considering how widely used UE4 is.

What exact setting takes the fog/blurryness from the game?

The main one, most likely, is r.AntiAliasingMethod. TAA has got to be the aa used in this game and that disables it from what I can see and it clears up the image A LOT. The other options in there are just the usual stuff I don't like. Depth of field and motion blur are obvious entries. SceneColorFringeQuality is Chromatic Abberation. Not sure if that's actually used in the game but figured what the hell. r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0 is film grain, same as CA, not sure if it's used but wouldn't hurt to throw it in there. Tonemapper.Quality has to do with vignetting. There are three settings there. 1, 2, and 3 and only having 3 adds a vignette so just left it at 1. 2 might use a better version of whatever a tonemapper is so you could try that and again, I have no idea if that's actually used in the game. r.FidelityFX.FSR.Enable=0
r.NGX.Enable=0 are FSR and DLSS, respectively. FSR is the only one shown in game but the DLSS files are in the game files so I have no idea what's up with that. I don't care for upscaling because it can also blur and smudge the image while adding artifacts as well so remove those if you want to use FSR.

EDIT: I just tested it with everything removed except r.AntiAliasingMethod and it looks the same, for the most part. I'd say slightly less crisp so there's probably another option in there that's doing something but the biggest one, for sure, is the anti-aliasing entry.

Thats probably the most annoying part of the game that weird fog/blurryness i tried using reshade as well and it makes it look better but it doesnt get rid of it. Ill try some of your suggestions and see what it does but cool mod!! Hopefully one day a modder or the devs gets rid of it completly

It would be nice to have an option but that's essentially what this is. Just replace your file with this one and once you're in game, just go into the options menu. You don't even have to change anything, just clicking Options is enough. I know it's annoying to have to do that every time you start the game but it's definitely better than having to play with it on. I'm honestly not sure if I would have kept playing this had I not learned how to turn it off. That blurriness that TAA has can make me actually sick sometimes.

Great job dude, I hope devs include these options in the next release with a user friendly menu like the rest of the graphics settings.

Yeah, that'd be nice. Game is great but holy s#*!, this blurry trash that seems to be in most modern games is awful and i'm sick of it.

Sorry to report, but it actually made my game worse: resolution looked way lower, even if it was maxed out in settings, everything was awfully pixelated, Jodi's hair are now like a game from early 00's. Luckily I did a backup of my Engine file so I reverted.

For knowledge, I play on version 0.5.1.0, so maybe it's supposed to be used on differente game versions.

The current version I'm aware of is 0.5.1.1 so it's possible. It doesn't make the game look perfect by any stretch but it cleans it up for sure although, things like hair and probably some of the lace costume items will shimmer more because it removes TAA, which is a post-processing anti-aliasing that essentially blurs the entire screen. I also have DLSS and FSR disabled in the file so if you're using those, that might have something to do with it looking worse, as well. You can go into the file yourself and disable anything you don't want. The changes are everything at the bottom under [SystemSettings]. When I click on options at the main menu, the game crisps and cleans up and looks like it gets a big jump in resolution so I have no idea why you had the opposite happen. Sorry, it didn't work out for you.

No worries mate, it was worth a try anyway and it may work for other people. Thanks for your effort

My friend, may I suggest you to use your own graphic card AA settings instead, like FXAA.

This makes the game look noticeably better. Seeing the blurry crap disappear after clicking options in the main menu was really cool. Its quite a bit sharper and a big improvement in my eyes. Thanks for this.
