Mod is out of date, use this one instead: https://www.nexusmods.com/thehuntercallofthewild/mods/259 The new mod pack I posted is pretty good with a lot of the same features (and fixed bugs!!) but is missing a few features from the glory days of my tweaks (things changed on how they could be added to the game) but I hope to add them back in in the next Pure Winter's Tweaks. ---
Free google sheets empty template for keeping track of your biggest trophies of all time. (Just make a copy for yourself and edit it.) - Also needs updated with new game, ha.
--- How to find spawns on your map: Go to online Deca, wait for it to load COMPLETELY, drag your population file to the left window after selecting the map you want to see spawns for. If you can't find the great one population scanner says you might have, or a diamond, it will show you their need zones to help. Still it can be kind of hard to find the animal if they are fussy about the time they want to show up to that need zone. ;)
Guide to finding any animal's need zones/location on your map: Go here. PATIENTLY wait for the entire page to load, and then wait three seconds longer. Now click on the map you want to find a spawn for- for example Population scanner says there is 1 diamond puma on your map and you want to know exactly where to find it. It's on Silver Ridge, so click Silver Ridge.
Now drag Silver Ridge's population file from your saves (C:\Users\Yourname\Documents\Avalanche Studios\COTW\Saves\longstrinofnumbers) to the empty left hand column on the web page. New information will appear- you just need to find the highest scoring animal from the list and checkmark its box to see its need zones on the map. You still have to guess what need zone it is at based on the time of day, but it can be fun for surprising your friends in multiplayer by just happening to take them to a cool spot, lol.
If you don't know what population file to drag, the number is listed in population scanner when you click the button to load a new map. ?
It's missing some of the features but it makes the game playable. If you want increased diamond spawns you can (very easily!!) add them manually using the new Animal Population Control (APC)
If you want premade population files I've made two for current game version as of 4/18/2023 but should work on all future game versions less they change something about maps are handled and that hasn't really happened before. x10 Diamonds and Great Ones in every coat color on all maps. (No mods required to receive x2 pop effects.) SLIGHTLY boosted diamonds and 1-3 great ones on all maps. (No mods required either.)
I used the New England version, the only thing I didn't use out of that version was the render distance because I used a mod that took render distance out to 900m. I am not a fan of population boosts so I was glad your new England Mod didn't include that.
With the Mod pack you are using now, will that have an issues with the "unlock all skills" portion of the New England mod if I move to the new mod pack? That was the main reason for using your mod for me.
Hi yes it will, BUT. You can do one of two things to get the skills back! Option one: Use Wemod or a trainer to just add the extra skill points! Then you can unlock everything without changing saves at all. Option two: Use a premade save file that has all skill points available. ETA: Using wemod will not corrupt your save file nor will having more skill points than the game would normally use corrupt your save or flag anything in multiplayer. At least it didn't for me and I've used it extensively in single player and with my hubby, not public-public maps.
Option three: I edit the modpack to include all skill points unlockable but you'd have to start a new save anyway so it's not the best option for this case scenario.
Hi the new mod pack now has the all perks/skill points unlocked for player and dog. https://www.nexusmods.com/thehuntercallofthewild/mods/259
If you want increased render distance you'll have to just use mod builder and make your own version, it's not hard to use you just use the dropdown menus, click build mod, and copy the exported dropzone folder to the game directory like installing any other mod. (Make sure all mods are deleted before doing so.) Or byte edit the distance, but, that's the hard route.
Heyya! Thank you so much for both responses!! Apologies for the delay in response myself, life got a bit bumpy. I'll drop into your suggestion so I can get back to playing this game in my moments of free time. :)
The March 2023 crashes are caused by the gdcc (Update here; https://www.nexusmods.com/thehuntercallofthewild/mods/222 make a new folder in dropzone called gdc and in this folder place the global.gdcc file) and the movement/scope wobble (Update here; https://www.nexusmods.com/thehuntercallofthewild/mods/223 safe to over wright the dropzone folder, just updates player to selected speed/wobble ) ... Until PureWinter updates this mod, this will work as a workaround
There is a new mod pack and an animal spawn solution in the sticky post but here's my copypasta to poll for update:
Which version of the mod were you using? New England or Finland? (Trying to figure out which mod version people want updated.) See new sticky post for working mod pack until the final version is updated.
As other people have said, since the new March 14th update the game crashes when this mod is on. Hope you can update the mod, it's fantastic for casual gameplay.
You can use the workaround Pacwolf1229 suggested although I haven't tried it myself.

I'll also speak up and say I would love to see this updated. After all this time I had Call of the Wild, this was the mod that made the game fun for single casual playing. It feels like a far less fun game without it now.

Hello and thank you so much for making your mods. My friends and I don't feel as though we can play the game without them now and, sadly, it seems as though it does require an update in order for it to work with the new weapon packs.
=) Thank you again for your hard work on making this a "must have" mod for us =D
Thank you very much. Which version of the mod were you using? New England or Finland? See new sticky post for more info.
I can update the mod but I need to know what qualities people are expecting/looking for. There is also a link to a new working mod pack (missing store prices but working great highly tested!) in the sticky.
