Modify Ammo is a powerful mod to customize the attributes of each ammunition in theHunter: Call of the Wild. The mod supports making changes to individual ammos or creating "bulk" modifications that apply to an entire category. When Adding the mod, both the class and attribute slider modifications are applied, however this can be overridden for bulk "category" modifications with the "Apply class selection to category" toggle.
Changing Ammo Classes - "Class Unlocker"
When shooting an animal, the final score (Bronze/Silver/Gold/Diamond/Great One) is affected by a "harvest integrity" check that determines if the animal was shot by an appropriate ammunition matching the animal's Class. While some players assume the weapon used determines the supported Classes, it is actually the ammo that affects the integrity check.
Modify the supported Classes for a single ammo:
1. Select the ammo to modify
2. Use the 9 Class buttons to select the classes the ammo will support
3. Click Add Modification to add the mod to your list
4. To make the same changes to more ammos, uncheck the Auto-select ammo defaults box before selecting a new ammo
Modify the supported Classes for all ammos of a given type:
1. Select the ammo type tab to modify
2. Use the 9 Class buttons to select the classes that all ammos will support. Select all 9 classes and don't touch the sliders to create a "Class Unlocker" mod
3. Check the "Apply class selection to category" box
4. Click Add Category Modification to add the bulk mod to your list
Changing Ammo Attributes
Each ammunition in the game has a unique combination of damage, expansion, and penetration values that determine how effective it will be at killing animals. There are also two secondary attributes, kinetic energy and mass, that affect bullet trajectory and have a small impact on damage. Additionally, shotgun ammos support modifying the number of pellets in birdshot and buckshot shells.
- Damage: How much damage an animal takes when being struck by a bullet. Higher values = faster kills.
- Penetration: How deep into an animal the bullet will penetrate. Higher values = greater chance to pierce multiple organs = faster kills.
- Expansion: How much "bleed" damage is inflicted to an animal. Higher values = more bleed damage = faster kills.
- Kinetic Energy: How fast the bullet travels. Higher values = less bullet drop at range and slightly more damage.
- Mass: How "heavy" the bullet is. Higher values = more bullet drop and slightly more damage
- Projectiles: How many pellets are contained in birdshot and buckshot shells. Higher value = more pellets = faster kills.
