INSTALL: I had trouble with this for a little bit as well. Think I got it.... I have Vortex installed to my "C" drive, so I extracted the archive to "C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar.unpacked\bundledPlugins\game-theforest" Then, I restarted vortex, and it showed up in the supported games. All I had to do after that was activated the game in Vortex, and show it where I have "The Forest" intalled (so it knew where the executable was). I dragged and dropped a log-texture mod off of Nexus right into Vortex, and it installed without a problem. Hope this helps!
*EDIT: The Mod I had tested needs to be installed manually at the moment. Vortex did not give an error, but did not seem to change anything in the game. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to being able to use Vortex for this game as well!
Not sure what I'm doing wrong but it doesn't come up when I search for the forest after installing this. I added the file into my Vortex file. When I try to open the javascript thing it just says there's a syntax error. I'm not a modder so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Sorry, I know I'm probably being a total idiot.
You go to directory where Vortex is installed, it's called Black Tree Gaming Ltd. Inside of this folder you go to Vortex -> resources -> app.asar.unpacked -> bundledPlugins. Within this folder you create a new folder called "game-theforest". Then you put the downloaded files (the three files within the downloaded folder called "Vortex Extension Update - The Forest - Vortex Extension v1.0.0") into the folder you just created. If you have the Vortex app running you need to restart it now, in order for the game to be shown in the list. You don't have to use any of the files you downloaded, just drag and drop them into the newly created "game-theforest" folder.

I struggled for about 30 minutes but tried your reply and it worked!
