    ok i did some quick testing:
    ----------------
    without mod:
    . . . opening full tech tree    ->    ~4.2 seconds
    . . . closing tree                    ->    ~4    seconds

    with mod:
    . . . opening tree    ->    ~1.2 seconds  (also the first time) (I have an old CPU)
    . . . closing tree     ->    almost instantly

    could you give more info on the tree-performance approach ?
    will it also break something ?
    how does it work ?
    how much % loading time does it save ? (i.e. - is it worth the hassle and risk)

      So the approach is to not remove the tree from memory, which costs nowadays close to no memory on the players machine.
      % on the first open, nothing, but all other after that about from 3 sec to 0.3 sec, so I would say 10x but that depends on the machine.

      And the only risk is wasting your time downloading/installing this mod, there are no other risks, this mod is 100% savegame compatible on install/removal.

      woa - sounds good - will def try it now.
      I'm still on 0.3.99 and it takes about 3 seconds still to open the full tree.

    just started the newest patched game version and the tech-tree-loading time is much better now - so no real need for this i'd say . .

      Could you privide your version? With my right now the gain in FULL TECH TREE is quite substention still. And I'm all for it that the devs take my changes into their base game, one of the changes (the fleet exchange fuel feature) is already in the game, so hopefully the tech tree will make it too.
