Hey, I ran through Hospitality and I didnt have any issues with the mod. The terminators seem a bit sharper. That said, if you can find anything to increase their reaction time I think it would certainly help make them more effective. I think you should try to push the values even further!
This! I'm too for a shorted reaction time of T-800s, they just don't seem too intimidating. Another thing, if you could change it, is to stop machines from losing interest in player's character so quick, after he's being discovered and hides away. BTW thank you again for that little non-emissive mod!
kspence1988: Unfortunately i did not found any variables that change AI reactions, anyway i just uploaded new optional version with higher values for their senses. I hope its better.
maryaneck: I cannot change their reactions as far as I know, but enemy interest should be higher now in new version 1.1. Pls let me know, if its better :)
I suspect reaction time is tied to their animations which would mean it's limited to how long it takes their heads to turn, weapons to be raised, etc. This makes sense as in the films the T-800's weren't meant to be quick. They were meant to be stronger and more overwhelming. Its movements are slow and methodical. Mostly because it's so freaking heavy.
I think the Terminators being slow has to do with how the puppets they used in moviemaking in the 80s and 90s could only be operated so fast by the puppeteers. I mean look how Schwarzenegger moves around playing that role while he has the flesh on. He punches, he runs, all that stuff. Sure, he doesn't have spiderman reflexes, but he doesn't just sneak or casually walk the whole movie. He does stuff that implies speed occasionally. Not often, sure, but when he does, he doesn't make the impression that he is signifficantly slower than a human. TLDR Terminators should be able to run and do so when it makes sense.
Simple answer - Bare Endoskeleton Terminators Feet.
TL;DR - The use a Gyro system to maintain balance, so an endoskeleton terminator cannot move fast in a rubble city. But the T600 can because they outfitted it. The T800 infiltrator in this game could run fast as well until you destroyed his body enough.
Explanation - The Swartzenegger Terminator was able to run because of the flesh and ability to equip/wear clothing and footwear. Footwear (boots/shoes) provided proper balance; where as at the end of the first terminator, even though the Achilles Hydraulic tendon was damaged on one leg, he was a lot slower as the endoskeleton. Look at the Terminator Salvation, when they had the T800 hunt them during the SkyNet base raid, it was slow as well.
is it possible to make the terminators more resistant to damage? not the small robots though they can go to scrapyard I just find it annoying they die in one haed shot when you get sniper laser.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I can't notice a difference in the AI. I played through the whole game on Hard first with no mod (which was quite easy) and now playing with the higher AI of the two mods on Extreme difficulty and the only different I'm noticing is a lot fewer collectable resources scattered about.
I haven't gotten to the t-800's in the hospital yet but is anyone else failing to see a greater threat from the turrets, spiders and aerial drones?
Side note; if I could request an upgrade to this mod as I'm assuming they're still tweaking it. Would it be possible for the AI to not give up hunting you so fast? I feel like alerting the machines should result in a MUCH heavier, more thorough search for the human who just took a shot at them. It should last longer and they should cover more ground in a shorter period of time. Like something closer to the gaurds in Metal Gear Solid? Even the gaurds in MGS 1 hunted for you better than these t-800's and that just isn't right!
I don't mean to be a complainer... the simple fact that the community is working to improve this game makes me soooooo happy!
It does i think... but from what i can tell, either on some/certain enemies and certain times or the main pak or a AI script conflicts/overrides. I think a lot of enemies are hard scripted to maps/events.
So I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why I can't seem to explore the pak file, I want to create custom values but its a problem, would you be able to give me some pointers on how to change those values or is it not that simple? I tried opening it in GFScape and pakexplorer as well as winrar and 7zip.
Man what tools you used to get original files from paks and to created new paks? Can you link to them (or upload if not available) and write short instructions?
I want to disable wallhack and few other annoying UI elements but im not aware of how I can mod paks or created new one..
Heard that the AI was a bit lackluster, so I have been using this mod to enhance my first playthrough.
Was also wondering what it actually mean to have maxAge at 0, like do the enemy never forget that you are there and will continuously hunt you until found? Or does it simply mean that they will stop hunting you at X amount of time but you won't be able to get a sneak critt(if there are any in the game) as they still are aware of yours presence?

Hope that's helpful, would love to try out when fixed :)
