Not sure if im doing this right, I downloaded the mod, extracted the ZIP folder while it was in the mods folder, deleted the (non-extracted) ZIP folder and tried to play the game with it. It was named "unnamed" in the in game mod manager, I can still equip it in the mod manager but when i tried to break it off with some of the wall still attached to it the alarm went off. Is there something im doing wrong?
This mod cannot be installed through the in-game mod manager as it directly modifies the script that controls how alarm boxes are triggered.
Might I suggest using the installer version, which automatically copies the vanilla game's script to a "backup" directory (\Teardown\backup\) before installing the modded script?
Installation process: 1. Download & extract the "installer" .zip file from the files page to your Teardown directory. (Same folder as teardown.exe) 2. Double-click the "install.bat" file to execute it. (Or run it from a terminal.) Done!
You can't directly remove the alarm from the wall, you have to cut the wall around the alarm. Since the alarm box itself can't be broken afaik, the game will check how many blocks are attached to the alarm box. This mod allows you to remove a section of wall with the alarm box attached without triggering the alarm.
I like this a lot, I really am not a fan of timers in games so it adds a lot of flexibility that I can extract the loot+alarm box and gather it up by the escape vehicle for at least some of the targets.
