for every URL the program tries to download. I have checked and i can download those images manually, so I suspect I might have to do with the progra or my Java conf.
Could you explain what you mean by "run .jar file"? The only option I get is to extract it, and if I do that I get three folders full of .class files that I don't know what to do with
Thank you so very much for this timesaver. Great job. An ultimate backup assistant, a functional, yet minimalistic solution. I wish i knew how to modify the code to add pastebin .txt (or .obj to skip converting) extraction along with pictures. The thing would be as complete as it could possibly be, having this implemented. Also, I know that such a suggestion shouldn't go here, but where else to post? It would be nice to have a utility that automatically changes the URL in the savegame's .json code to your hard-drive destination where the extracted images (and, hopefully meshes) were saved. One last thing, it would be great to have an alternative version of the tool which allows the download of files larger than 2mb.
I downloaded the images, the images are in a file, I really don't know where to paste them so they will work. I tried paste them in the game folder in documents the saves folder, I created a folder named mods then created a folder named url images then pasted them there but still nothing. So... please tell me what I am doing wrong...
The newest version 1.0.1 doesn't seem to be working properly, i tried downloading cards against humanity, but it was only downloading around 5-6 of the cards, so i tried the 1.0.0 version and it worked fine. Not sure what happened.
That is strange. I changed the way threading worked so it could download multiple images at the same time and so it could have a "done" message at the end. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what's going on.
Could you let me know a few things - Speed of your internet - Info about your processor, speed, number of cores, brand, and model If that's possible it would be useful in figuring this out.
Also, when it downloads those 6, is there any "done" message?
This program is meant to open up .cjc files which are Tabletop Simulator saves. I allow this program to open up any file because it can be use on any file that contains text (but it will only download jpg, jpeg and png files).
Anyway, you are trying to use this program on a .rar file, which is an archive that contains files. This file is larger than 2mb, which this program doesn't do anything with (hence "Skipping...") or it would take a long time to finish.
On that note, since it's larger than 2mb, it most likely doesn't contain a tts save, but rather raw images. Since the purpose of this program is to download images from save files, it's counter intuitive to use this in your situation. So just extract the .rar file with something like 7zip or any other archive program that handles that extension.
TLDR; Extract that rar file with 7zip and don't try to use this program on it.
I just stopped by your mod to see how it was going. I thank you for troubleshooting the issues I would normally have to. Not that this is exactly a hard issue to figure out. <3
Hrmm, tried using this, tells me its downloading the images, but the file it creates for putting the images in remains empty every time I try to use it.
Perhaps a security issue or something? I'll keep poking around...
Yep. I decided to wait for about 30 minutes just in case but it still turned up empty.
Tried moving the program as well to different places along with its folder but that didn't change anything either. Using Windows 8, if that helps at all.
Well, I suggest downloading and running the latest version (1.0.1). I put some output messages in there that may give a better idea as to what is going on.
Extremely useful. Way better than having to install images through the game one-at-a-time. If I had to recommend one thing though, it would be to add an indication of when the files have finished downloading. This could be as simple as a "done" line after the final file is downloaded, that'd be fine, as at the moment, there is no way to tell whether a file has been fully downloaded or not. (ie. I just got a save that only had 1 file to download, and couldn't tell when the file was done, as there were no other files that it was downloading that I could compare download times to)

To set java as the default program to open .jar files:
Right click the jar file -> properties -> change (under the general tab. Look for opens with...) -> C-Program Files-Java jre7-bin-javaw.exe
These instructions are for windows, which I assume you're using. Once your computer knows how to open up .jar files, it should work.
I made this program to back up mods so the images could be uploaded somewhere else.

Opening: MunchkinLinks-38-1-5.rar.
File is larger than 2mb. Skipping...
It has been on this screen for about 20 min is it working or did i do something wrong?
