hey so, the april 11th update came out, and now i can't play the game on the highest difficulty because the game crashes when i puase with this mod installed. any chance of a mod update to fix this?
So, I played with this mod along with a bunch of others that bring QOL improvements and beat the game with all difficulties maxed out. However, I didn't get the achievement of beating the game on the highest difficulties. Is it a bug?
"- The radius of detection and alarm of Security Cameras has been increased"
I never knew there was a security mechanic / detection mechanic or is this purely the visual aspect of the SHODAN cameras panning around to player character location?
When security cameras detect a player, enemies in a certain radius go into an alarm state, they become aware of the player's location and move towards him.
I had no idea this was a game mechanic!!!!!! Is this only for the red/shodan cameras (the ones that make a beep when they see you)? What about those slow moving white cameras that look like a half sphere? Are those just for the video feed monitors?
In version 1.0 there were settings from the mod "More Difficulty", but they did not suit me, and in version 1.1 I made changes, which are indicated on the description page of the mod, if I add any more changes, I will indicate it in the changelog. If you played with the previous version of the main mod, when switching to version 1.1, you do not need to start a new game.
Would be best if you kept your changes and more difficulty mod changes separate, so that people can choose what they want.
For instance, i would like to play on hardest mission difficulty on first playthrough in order to get the semi-roguelike restoration bay mechanics and the tension of a timer but i want the timer at 24 hours so that its doable.
by the way, as i was holding off playing on hardest difficulty till now: does the restoration bay mechanic on hardest difficulty cause you to loose progress and start the FLOOR from scratch if you die before activating it, or does it make you die completely and start the GAME from scratch?
This has already been discussed here, the mechanics are apparently broken, there is no permanent death at maximum difficulty, only a timer and more respawn. If you have not activated Restoration Bay, you will have to load the save, and when Restoration Bay is activated, the player is resurrected in it without losing progress.
Read a little lower in the thread, I tried to do this, but the timer is going crazy. But in my opinion, even 24 hours is too much, and a longer time limit will not make sense, it's almost the same as playing without time.
I hope so, because at a lower difficulty, the timer is also set to 0, but I only played with this version a little, everything seems to be fine, only the timer shows zeros in the menu.
Would you be so kind as to also make a version that sets it to something very very long on all difficulties? I just don't like the idea of an in-game deadline at all and would prefer it gone altogether.
Hi! I set a timer for the 1st and 2nd difficulty levels, but it only appears at the very beginning, and then disappears, and does not appear in the menu, so I do not know if it works. And for maximum complexity without problems, tomorrow I will make a version with more time.
Unfortunately, when I set values exceeding 24 hours, the timer displays the wrong time, even less than 24 hours, so all I could do was deactivate the timer by setting it to 0, as in the lower difficulty levels (but it is still displayed in the menu). In this version, difficulty 3 differs from difficulty 2, only with a more intense respawn of enemies.
I am confused with this setting... It tells that you have 10 hours, (24 with this mod) to stop Shodan and you will permanenlty die if Restoration Bay is not activated....
So i tried game to start on lvl 3 and I died on the beginning and I could load save with no permadeath...
So why is here mentioned Restoration Bay and permadeath?? When you can save and load game.
Is this 10 hours, (24 with mod) to find Restoration bay on current lvl or to finish the game?? This permadeath is confusing me because there is no permadeath because you can load save.
Difficulty 3 differs from 2 in that 10 hours are given to complete the entire game, and the enemies respawn as in the original (I have no idea how it is). If the timer runs out, then the game will end, activation of Restoration Bays will not help, the player can only be reborn in them until the time runs out. And the developers probably just forgot about permanent death, it's a pity, I always play with permanent death, if there is one in the game.
Hi! Thanks! Yes, it's me. It's a pity that NDS didn't make a configurable timer, but as it turned out, setting a timer is very simple. In general, it turned out to be a very hardcore game, for myself I also increased the damage from enemies by 2 times, I'll try to finish the game like this, although I'm playing for the first time and I played quite a bit in the original. How do you like the remake? Have you completed it yet?
Yes, I also made a 'More Difficulty' mod, I edited the enemy's 'forget time' and 'hesitation percentage'. I really like it so far, even though I'm moving slowly, I look everywhere... What I would really change is the AI. - behavior/more tactics - perception/hearing - hit reaction/ragdoll

please dont include additional changes by defaut, keep them separate! Thanks for the mod!

I am hoping its the former.

But even if you don't, thanks again!

Are you from the Weird West mod?
