Thank you so much. I was already enjoying the game, but the lightning was actually hurting my eyes at times and turning the brightness down didn't fix the problem. Your mod did.
You have really made the game way more enjoyable for me. Thank you!
Serously, I don't know why they had the bloom and exposure so silly in vanilla, it actually looks better with your recommended settings. Wish every unreal engine mod had this option to just turn down all the bloom and exposure nonsense.
It’s an interesting mod and I bet many people with sensitive eyes will find it useful. I tried it but I prefer the original which with ssgi, no ambient light mod and hdr enabled look simply fantastic (despite the pixel textures which I’m not a fan of). I struggle to understand why is it not all implemented in the game by default.
Thanks, yes I’ve tried it before but it looked even worst. Funny enough I now start to come around about the game looks and don’t mind it as much as when first started. They’re simply not enough detail in geometry to make it work. Not even the high res textures would help I guess.
Weird, I can't get this mod to work on the current version of the game on Steam. Followed instructions on where to put the pak for disabling bloom and bloom is still at full strength.
If you open Engine.ini located here: %UserProfile%\Saved Games\Nightdive Studios\SystemShock\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini
You can add these lines to the bottom of the file: [SystemSettings] r.BloomQuality=0Make sure the game is not running when you edit this file to ensure the changes stick. Save it and voila. Bloom is disabled.
This. It straight up made some of em impossible, because I was not able to see two small white stripes which were supposed to show me the range of energy I need to reach for a lock to open...
I used the recommended settings and I must say this mod solved all the graphic issues ReShock had, in terms of colors. The oversaturated childish look is completely gone. You should make some better screenshots because this is the mod everyone who dislikes the colors must have. Great job and thank you!
And yes, this mod is great, thanks erico9871! Combined with "enable texture filtering" mod and the engine ini tweaks from "Enable Unreal Engine's Native SSGI" make SS remake look awesome!
Oh the legend himself, LiquidBronze, nice to meet you at this sacred place and thank you for your service, as Ive already said on DB - yes its me :)
I also use SSGI engine tweaks.. than "No Chromatic Abberation for HUD" + "No headbob" + "No compass" and that basically gives me the experience I want. Plus ofc this mod we talk about here, thats a must have.
Also, have a look at the DREAM mod I posted here at Nexus, its for Daggerfall unity & its my magnum opus .)
To me Bloom 50% and exposure 3% appears like a reasonable tweak EDIT: I used the recommended "bloom 50%, exposure 8%" after all and made my own comparison screenshots, its SO GOOD.

So like, "Bloom50_Exposure8 : + 5"
